Starting with Sapnon Ka Saudagar Hema Malini has an association with dreams. She was named Dreamgirl and there was a film about that too. Later her roles in Mehbooba, Seeta aur Geeta, and Dulhan showed real promise. Sholay was male-dominated but she held her fort and people have not forgotten her role as Basanti. Kudrat, Kranti, Razia Sultan, Meera, Dard, Khushbu, and Dharmatma demanded a lot of hard work from her but she created a majestic impact through them.
