Always Ask Why

One of my hobbies is writing things on LinkedIn that are not related to programming. It drives most of my friends crazy and even someone once responded to me and then released a poll asking if developers should write musings or shut up and write code 😳.

As a chess player I learned the computer revolution firsthand. Once Deep Blue beat Kasparov, chess became X-Mix Drix. Problem solved.
Even writing code is a solved problem. The problem that always remains is why.

And in order to understand why you need thoughts and not just code.
So those who are looking for something professional sorry for wasting your time and those who ask why I don't write on Facebook is because I long to make a voice in a place where my aunt doesn't embarrass me. I can embarrass myself alone, thank you very much😉.

So I chose to write about television, despite Walla's scathing review, I intend to watch the series The Cook 2. In days of war, I look for escapism, even if it means watching Gal Thoren and Romi Abulfia kiss.

These days, when we are torn between a terrible reality and pressure at work, I actually miss something in the feeling from the first season.

Guri Alfie is a not young programmer and a father in a fragile relationship. He is interviewed in front of people half his age who refuse him and he finds himself peeling tomatoes into the night in the kitchen of a demanding chef.

I think this series speaks of essence. On the routine and sometimes fake route vs a true inner desire.

Gori is in a life that he seems to have not carefully chosen but seems to have rolled into them. The job he chose, the relationship he chose, and even parenting seem like cases that were imposed on him.

Although he is like a victim, trying to get an interview, trying to get closer in a relationship, trying to be a good father, but it's clear that he doesn't really want to.

And when he peels tomatoes, approaches the beautiful colleuge cook and gets carried away by the chef's stormy character, you can see that he really wants to. He is only then realy happy.

So it's just TV, but there's a message here. Even if we are paid "just to write code", in my opinion it is always permissible and necessary to ask why.

מתחביבי זה לכתוב בלינקדאין דברים שלא קשורים לתכנות. זה משגע את רוב החברים שלי ואפילו מישהו פעם הגיב לי ואחר כך הוציא סקר ששואל האם מפתחים צריכים לכתוב הגיגים או לשתוק ולכתוב קוד 😳. בתור שחמטאי למדתי על בשרי את המהפכה המחשבית. ברגע שדיפ בלו ניצח את קספרוב השחמט הפך לאיקס מיקס דריקס. בעיה פתורה.גם לכתוב קוד זאת בעיה פתורה. הבעיה שתמיד נשארת היא למה.ובשביל להבין למה צריך הגיגים ולא רק קוד. אז מי שמחפש משהו מקצועי שידפדף וסליחה על גזילת הזמן ומי ששואל למה אני לא כותב בפייסבוק זה בגלל שאני משתוקק להשמיע קול במקום שבו דודה שלי לא מביכה אותי. אני יכול להביך את עצמי לבד, תודה רבה😉. אז בחרתי לכתוב על טלויזיהלמרות הביקורת העוקצנית של וואלה אני מתכוון לראות את הסדרה הטבח 2. בימים של מלחמה אני מחפש אסקפיזם, אפילו אם זה אומר לצפות בגל תורן ורומי אבולפיה מתנשקים.בימים האלה שאנחנו נקרעים בין מציאות נוראית לבין לחץ בעבודה אני דווקא מתגעגע למשהו בהרגשה מהעונה הראשונה. גורי אלפי הוא הייטקיסט מתבגר ואבא בזוגיות שברירית. הוא מתראיין מול אנשים במחצית גילו שעושים עליו פוזות והוא מוצא את עצמו מקלף עגבניות לתוך הלילה במטבח של שף תובעני.הסדרה הזאת מדברת לדעתי על מהות. על המסלול השגרתי ולעיתים מזוייף מול תשוקה אמיתית פנימית.גורי נמצא בחיים שהוא כאילו בחר אבל נראה שהוא התגלגל אליהם. העבודה שבחר, הזוגיות שבחר ואפילו ההורות נראים כמו תיקים שנכפו עליו.אמנם הוא כאילו קורבן, מנסה להתראיין, מנסה להתקרב בקשר מנסה להיות אבא טוב, אבל שקוף שהוא לא באמת רוצה. וכשהוא מקלף עגבניות, מתקרב לטבחית ונסחף אחרי האופי הסוער של השף רואים שהוא באמת רוצה.אז זה רק טלויזיה, אבל יש פה איזה מסר. אפילו אם משלמים לנו "רק לכתוב קוד", לדעתי תמיד מותר וצריך לשאול למה.
