I am noticing a lot more Tesla Model 3’s on the road these days.
With the price of Unleaded Gasoline reaching $1.50 per litre ( $6/gallon ) here in Ontario maybe it makes sense to buy a Tesla ?
Yesterday it cost me about $ 60 to fill the tank of my little VW Golf.
I drive about 40 km a day … 1,200 km/ month …. So fill the tank about twice a month… costing $120 / month
I found this Tesla Model 3 available for $61,000 Cdn 🇨🇦
(I paid $19,000 for my 2018 VW Golf)

Most people charge their Tesla overnight with one of these EV Level 2 - 240 chargers … cost is about $1,000 …
With a Home Charger the Tesla takes approximately 12 hours to fully charge.
In Ontario, where the province’s electricity rates average around 10 cents per kWh it would cost $ 7.00 to charge the Tesla overnight.
Tesla vehicles can go without a charge for up to 60–70 days. You must restrict your settings to let it sleep. Tesla advises charging it "daily" to 90%, although if the battery is left sitting, it will lose 1-2% of its charge daily.
It currently costs $20.00 to charge your Tesla on a public charger in Canada and will take between 15-30 minutes to charge. It’s also important to note that cold weather negatively affects charging speeds.

The Model 3 Long Range will get 534 km on one charge ….
534 km / $7 = 76 km / 1 $
So if I drive 40 km each day that is a cost of 50 cents per day … or $15 per month …
Maybe it’s time for a Tesla ?
