A principios del año 2022 una extraña enfermedad provocó la esterilidad de todos los hombres llevando a cero los nacimientos. La preocupación por la inminente desaparición de la raza humana llevó a extremos insospechados la experimentación genética en la siguiente década, obteniendo parcialmente una victoria al lograr reproducir seres humanos con dos óvulos, pero con la consecuencia de que solo nacían mujeres. La locura empezó cuando hallaron a dos bebes varones a la entrada de una cueva, pero desafortunadamente murieron al alejarlos de ella. Desde entonces numerosos grupos de exploradores han entrado para tratar de explicar la fuente de esos varones. A la fecha ninguno ha regresado…
A cada paso que dábamos parecía que nos íbamos durmiendo mas, de los cuarenta exploradores originales, sólo quedábamos seis, y de esos seis cuatro casi ya no se movían, mi compañera y yo no dejábamos de bostezar parecía como si ese extraño humo confundiera nuestros sentidos, nuestros rostros se veían derritiéndose por el intenso calor, pero sabíamos claramente que era solo una ilusión, el dolor que sentíamos era lo que nos mantenía despiertos al menos un poco, pero entonces mi compañera tomo firmemente mi mano.
-Creo que ya no puedo mas, siento que mis piernas se congelan, el dolor es tan intenso que creo que rebasé por mucho el umbral humano-
