According to one legend, the Imperial Pond (Carska Bara) was named after Attila the Huns, who spent some time in this area. It is said that Attila spent some time there, hunting birds and enjoying the landscape, recovering from the wounds received during the conquest on the East.

Again, other legends say that the swamp was named after Crown Prince Ferdinand, who often came here to hunt. The third legend is about Prince Rudolf who came here with his mistress Maria Vecer ... What is certain is that many nobles visited this area to enjoy fishing and hunting, good wine and some quality Vojvodina food.

However, many believe in the legend that hunting in this place is punished by nature. Attila Hunski died of his injuries and is believed to have been buried in a secret location somewhere in Serbia. Prince Ferdinand was killed in Sarajevo, which was the immediate reason for the beginning of the First World War. Prince Rudolf was killed by political dissidents, and even one of the most famous owners of this estate, Janos Lukac, lost his life in the 18th century in a duel defending the honesty of an lady.

That is why I think that it is best to go bird hunting in Carska Bara with a camera. The catch will surely be rich and you will return home more fulfilled for one beautiful life experience.
