Until I prepare some new material, I will take you, with photos and words, to some places I visited earlier. At a very short distance from my house is Carska Bara. The literal translation of the name is the Imperial Swamp, and it is related to one great military leader and ruler who lived in this area - Attila the Huns.

According to many legends, Attila's tomb is located somewhere in Serbia, although it has not been found to this day. But what is certain is that many other testimonies and traces remain about Attila. One of them is this swamp.

It covers an area of about 4.5 square kilometers between the two lowland rivers of Vojvodina - Begej and Tisa. It is a real paradise for birds. One part of Carske Bare is under state protection as a nature reserve of special importance.
