During the COVID lockdown in Split, I had the opportunity to witness the transformation of nature. As the buses ceased operation, the streets emptied, and establishments closed, the environment began to mend itself from the impact of pollution. The sea, in particular, underwent a remarkable revival as maritime traffic dwindled, breathing new life into the port. The water gradually cleared as oil and debris dissipated, inviting a resurgence of marine life. The harbor became a haven for numerous fish, creating a serene and picturesque scene.
Amidst these changes, the sky painted breathtaking sunsets that captured our attention. On a memorable day, our hostel group decided to venture outside, seeking a vantage point by the port to admire the sunset and capture its beauty through photographs. This experience left an indelible mark, one that I deeply appreciate. The convergence of the sunset and nature's rejuvenation during the lockdown made me wish for the continuation of this unique period. While the lockdown couldn't last forever, the photographs serve as cherished mementos, transporting me back to that meaningful time in my life.
