After watching the various other communities springing up here on Blurt, I decided that it was time for me to create one for my own favourite subject, the Stalker games, the book Roadside Picnic from the Strugatsky Brothers, and the epic and iconic movie Stalker from the legendary russian movie director Andrei Tarkovsky.
Just by way of introduction, in 2005 I discovered the game Half Life 2, and the dingy, run-down vibe of the game's environment really charmed me, and the excellent character acting and character models and story driven action got me to start playing computer games again.
Shortly after, the Steam game platform launched, and then I learned about this funny little game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
Prior to this series of cultural artifacts coming into my awareness and shaping my life, I was a 'cybergoth' and loved the whole anarchistic, dangerous vibe, but once I got hooked on Stalker, buggy as it was, I decided that I wanted to go to eastern europe, eventually.
One thing led to another, and after 6 months in northern England, I decided to go to Bulgaria, and nothing has ever been the same since.
So I decided that I would make an attempt to draw my fellow Stalker fanatics to gather somewhere other than shitty facebook, and published this post today after resurrecting my facebook account:

I keep on getting new people following the blog, now upwards of 350 followers, and I don't even write much new material now for a long time. I started it while I was homeless, sleeping in an underground tunnel under central Sofia's big park under the National Palace of Culture (NDK) and had little else to do but muse various things about various obscure subjects with a little Samsung XCover 1 phone I was able to scrape the coins together to buy, and it was directly after this period that Steem was launched and I started on a new phase.
So, I don't want to spend too much time on it, but I would love to have some other stalkers come and hang both at the discord and post their stalker related blogs here instead of facebook.
It will be a couple of months before things are 100% here, with the Justin Solar Eclipse going on, as they power down and hammer the price and scrape tiny amounts of crypto at our expense, but after this, things will be moving forward at and accelerating pace.
It is my feeling that this community in general is a new thing that has never happened before, and if you are a true Stalker, that is like a flappy sheet being waved at an angry bull full of nasty spikes in a spanish arena. You should want to see what it is about.
I just never felt like I should invite anyone back in the Steem days because the place was riddled with Steem-Powered losers who sucked all of the joy out of the place and made sure it never grew much past a few thousand regular users. Blurt has a chance of being something much, much more.
Welcome, stalkers, and Good Hunting.
Very cool.
