Splinterlands: Custom Challenges

in splinterlands •  3 days ago

Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Do you have a particular team you want to test? A ruleset? A card you don't have but want to try in battle? You can do these now with Splinterlands feature: #SplinterlandsCustomChallenges

How to Use Custom Challenges

Click "Play" in the left most part and then "Challenge" in the right most part your screen.

You should now see the following:

You can now input your desired opponent. In this case, I wanted to challenge @coyotelation.

You can also pick which cards are allowed. You can pick "All Cards" so that you can test some cards that you don't have. I played with some legendary cards I wanted using this feature.

I usually play in the Gold League so I haven't tried the maximum power of cards yet. If you want to, then you can choose the "Expert" option in the Summoner Level Caps.

If you are willing to pay a small fee of 10 DEC, you can have more options in your custom challenge such as mana cap, rulesets, and available elements. Alternatively, you can do this for free if you stake 50,000 SPS or own a Runi. Runis are special types of Splinterlands cards that was minted in the Ethereum blockchain and can be bought in Opensea.io.

You can try a combination of cards and fun rulesets. This way, you will already know which teams to use in each challenging ruleset. Then you can acquire the cards that you need to be optimal in certain rulesets. For example, in Going the Distance, I find that the most effective teams are ones with Quix as Summoner complemented Water or Fire ranged units. Water has great ranged units like the Wave Brood and Mar Toren Trader while Fire has the likes of Lava Launcher and Tinderlock.

Final Thoughts

Custom Challenge is a fun way to play with your friends and test certain teams and rulesets. Sure it doesn't have rewards but you can play without using energy too. The goal of this feature is to enjoy the game and try cards at their max levels.

Thank you for reading and have fun playing Splinterlands!
