Efreet Elder ,so lets go Fire Splinter this week
i didn't post for a while and i can say i missed the fun of this challenge
nice card by the way, i like the art of it
it reminds me of Snarf from Thundercats

i believe this sorcerer is a bit undervalued from the community
as said above it belongs to the Fire Splinter
this Splinter is linked to melee powered monsters and not to magic attack powered so most of the times we tend to neglect monsters like the Efreet

this Elder has a very unique and special ability though
it has 'last stand' which means if it is the only card left on board its stats grow very powerful and can give you the win
lets have a look on this cards stats

you can click on the following link to see my battle in which i used Efreet Elder

the problem with EE is that in order to be played it requires a lot of mana
so when you get to the point to use him ,you always come up with second thoughts of using another card instead
of course in a 'late' battle his last stand ability may be proved more than valuable and can be the one which will credit the battle to you but this is not my gameplay
when i'm getting into a battle i wanna finish it in the first 2 rounds if possible
most of the times i play with stronger opponents and a late battle is in their favor not mine

of course different players have different gameplays

in this battle i chose Efreet Elder cause the game rules gave me this chance
it was a high mana battle so i had many options in my deck formation
i placed the Elder in the last place just in case i face any issues with my opponent
if the battle was going to last over 4-5 rounds i wanted to have an ace in my pocket to play it in the end

according to the fight rules there was no option on the Splinter, you could only go Fire so my first move was to get Plado Emberstorm as a summoner

plado220.jpg

when you play with stronger opponents the summoner makes huge difference in the battle's outcome most of the times

Plado is expensive but worth every single penny of his money

he has helped me to make a ton of DEC by winning many battles because of him

in this specific battle his help was essential

as mentioned it was a 50 mana battle
my summoner consume 5 points so i had been left with 45 points to choose from a variety of cards

my first thoughts after checking on my opponent and always considering the battle's rules (especially 'armor up' ) was that i wanted a clean fight
i wanted to finish it as early as i could so i needed to be fast with massive power

just in case the scenario wouldn't go as i planned i decided to get my Efreet Elder as my team's sleeping giant in the last place of the battlefield
if i didnt have 'armor up' as a rule i'm not sure if i was going to use Efreet , that's why i'm always telling you that when i decide about my team a lot of factors affect my choices

in the first place my Molten Ogre was a must, i needed him to demoralize my rival's monsters and reduce their melee attack
second place Fineas Rage, i needed his speed and his reach ability, a very powerful monster in case you don't own one you must go buy one immediately
in the third place , well protected my Sand Worm was ready to help with its massive attack power and in the fourth position i got my Serpentine Spy,its speed and opportunity ability were countable
in the last two places i got the War Chaang and as you already know Efreet Elder
the War Chaang was chosen cause of its retaliate ability...if the enemy was holding a powerful assassin i thought i had a chance of retaliating with the Chaang
about the EE there not much to be said i have already explained why i chose to get him on board in this fight

  • Molten Ogre lvl 3
  • Fineas Rage lvl 1
  • Sand Worm lvl 3
  • Serpentine Spy lvl 3
  • War Chaang lvl 1
  • Efreet Elder lvl 1

the battle didn't evolve as i wanted
it took me 6 rounds to finish it and win the game and i will not lie to you as i was watching the fight i was pretty sure my Efreet would had to finish the battle as i ,at some point, believed that he would be the only standing monster from my deck on the field
i didn't have to put his abilities to the test though as the fight was over with the War Chaang alive and vigorous
it was a very nice fight ,i wouldn't say my opponent was much stronger than me so the fight was almost equal
i won 20 DEC , i'm trying to get as many as i can i have to purchase MIMOSA...i'm telling you i'm struggling here!
