Ant Miners is a monster card not so common in use but if you use it correctly then it can be really crucial for the battle outcome
when i saw this week's challenge i was pretty sure that i was going to struggle to find the right battle to throw my Ant Miner in and create this post
the only thing i wanna say is never underestimate this small in size fighter
this specific battle i consider it one of a kind and i really encourage you to watch it till the last hit
i can guarantee you will enjoy it and learn from it
after 'reading' my opponent i decided to go Fire Splinter
what i wanted to do was to put all my strength in sneak assassins and opportunity ability monsters
this way i thought would be the best way to take down my opponent
the Ant Miner was not in my plans when i started building my team but during the process i decided that it seemed a good idea to use the Ant
before we go any further lets take a quick look on its stats
you can click on the following link to see my battle where i used my Ant Miner
...Ant Miner's battle...
if you upgrade the Ant to lvl 6 it gets the shield ability
we are talking about a whole different monster
my bad i have not upgraded my Ant to this lvl, if i had i would have won the battle
well yes ,i lost this battle but you know guys in Splinterlands its not only to get the correct strategy
its not only to get the right monsters to the right position
you need luck, you need some luck and believe me one single hit some times makes the difference
this was the case in the above fight
just one hit, an unlucky attack of mine, a miss hit
that was enough to lose the fight
according to my gameplay i think i did my best
i had a lvl 3 deck fighting against a stronger rival but i thought i had everything in place and i was very confident i was going to be victorious
the only thing i didn't think about was 'luck' and this cost me the game!
anyway let me explain you what were my thoughts about the team building
first of all i decided to go with the red team, the Fire Splinter
after checking on my opponent i just thought it was the best Splinter to go with
i knew i was playing with a stronger opponent and for some reason i had in mind to use sneak assassins and opportunists
for Summoner i picked Plado EmberStorm
a Summoner i have talked so much about
a must have card
maybe it is a bit expensive right now for $740 but it is worth every single cent
you can make your money back for sure as you're gonna use him a lot but still it is a serious investment so you have to think twice
don't forget you can always rent him for as many days you want for something about 100 to 150 DEC per day
i wanted to use a massive tank
the reason why is that none of the monsters i was going to select had many life points so i needed my tank to get as many hits as it could get in order to protect its team
for this job i summoned in the first place my lvl 3 gold foil Molten Ogre, a massive tank with the demoralize ability from lvl 1
in the second place i got Serpentine Spy, one of my favorite opportunists
in the third and fourth place i selected two sneak assassins
in 3rd place Kobold Miner and in the 4th place Elven Cutthroat
i use a lot of these two cards ,they are very handy in medium-low mana battles as this one
in the fifth place i chose my Battering Ram another opportunist
as you can clearly see my whole team was built on low life support monsters and that was the plan....to get as many monsters as i could get and hit the back lines of my enemy
after all these monsters i left with only 2 mana points and by that time i decided to use my Ant Miner in the last place of my deck
why i made this decision is because i wanted a hidden ace in my deck, a scavenger who would exploit every ones death and if he would end up last ,to have may life points to fight as the last monster standing
my only concern was the opponent not to use any sneak assassins himself
everything was perfect and when the battle begun and i saw my opponent's team i was pretty confident i would won the battle
- Molten Ogre lvl 3
- Serpentine Spy lvl 3
- Kobold Miner lvl 3
- Elven Cutthroat lvl 3
- Battering Ram lvl 3
- Ant Miners lvl 3

everything was so perfect and according to plan
my rival seemed to preparing himself for a nasty loss but then it happened the unexpected
a damn miss attack by my Ram...a speed 4 monster miss hit a speed 6 monster and the game was lost
i could not believe my eyes and i was really really upset...
i wanted to win this battle
please watch it and tell me what do you think of the strategy followed
