Saint Vincent Ferrer is the Patron Saint of:
Builders
Businessmen
Reconciliation
Vincent Ferrer is the patron saint of builders because he built up the Body of Christ—the Church. Like St. Vincent, we can share the Good News of Jesus with others and help God's goodness to grow in the world.
"The Miracles of St. Vincent Ferrer," Ercole de' Roberti. The museum label lists the miracles thus: "the Saint heals a lame man, brings a rich Jewess back to life, saves a small boy from a burning house, brings back to life a child killed by his mad mother, cures a wounded leg."
I and my youngest daughter together with my co-teachers attended the 1st Novena Mass at San Vicente Ferrer Parish in Sambag 2, Cebu City in honor of their patron Saint Vincent Ferrer in which our school was one of the sponsors. The mass was precided by Rev. Fr. Massimo Fusarelli, OFM - Minister General from Rome Italy. Lots of devotees attended the mass together with so many priests from different parishes in the province.
This was my fisrt time to witness on how the selected Harmanos and Hermanas Mayores recognized and received blessings from the Ministry General. The tradition of having Hermanos and Hermanas Mayores during festivals is a practice carried on from the Philippines whereby prominent citizens are chosen to be the honorary festival chairs who coordinated with the Church's preparations for events marking the feast of the town's Patron Saint.
