Society is changing. The society and characteristics of Bangladesh are no exception.
The economic, social and political spheres of the country have undergone tremendous changes since the post-independence period. Changes in education technology and communication have taken the society and economy of this country one step further. Extensive industrialization and urbanization have changed the role of women. In the change of social life, on the one hand, as the old problems have become complex, on the other hand, new problems have arisen.
The concept of social change
What is meant by social change is the change in the structure and functions of society. The basic structure of every society is formed through the production system of that society and the relations of people of different professions related to that system. Again, some superstructures were formed with this structure. Notable among them are laws, politics, culture, etc. So the change in the superstructure of the society is a social change.
One by one, sociologists have expressed their views on the trend of social change. However, by combining everything and analyzing everything judiciously, social change means that social change is the overall change in the life system of a nation. Social change is sometimes slow and sometimes fast. The impact of this change is deeply touching on the traditional way of life, economics, politics, sociology, religious values. Gaining new momentum by gaining creative activities in the society. New branches and techniques of knowledge and science are opened. Creation is the madness of new creation and the process of building a new society begins.

সমাজ পরিবর্তনশীল। বাংলাদেশের সমাজ ও বৈশিষ্ট্যের ব্যতিক্রম নয়।
স্বাধীনতা পরবর্তী কালীন সময় হতে দেশের অর্থনৈতিক সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাপক পরিবর্তন সাধিত হয়েছে। শিক্ষা প্রযুক্তি ও যোগাযোগের পরিবর্তন এদেশের সমাজ ও অর্থনীতির দিকে আরও একধাপ এগিয়ে নিয়েছে। ব্যাপক শিল্পায়ন ও নগরায়ন নারীর ভূমিকায় পরিবর্তন এনে দিয়েছে। সমাজজীবনে রে পরিবর্তনে একদিকে যেমন পুরাতন সমস্যাগুলো জটিল রূপ ধারণ করেছে অন্যদিকে তেমনি নতুন নতুন সমস্যার উদ্ভব ঘটেছে।
সামাজিক পরিবর্তনের ধারণা
সামাজিক পরিবর্তন বলতে সমাজ কাঠামো ও কার্যাবলী পরিবর্তন কী বোঝায়। প্রতিটি সমাজের মৌল কাঠামো গড়ে ওঠে সে সমাজের উৎপাদন ব্যবস্থা এবং উক্ত ব্যবস্থার সঙ্গে সম্পর্কযুক্ত বিভিন্ন পেশার মানুষের সম্পর্কের মাধ্যমে। আবার এই কাঠামো সাথে গড়ে ওঠে কতগুলো উপরিকাঠামো। সেগুলোর মধ্যে বিশেষ উল্লেখযোগ্য আইন-কানুন রাজনীতি সংস্কৃতি প্রভৃতি সুতরাং সমাজের উপরিকাঠামো পরিবর্তন সামাজিক পরিবর্তন।
সামাজিক পরিবর্তনের ধারা সম্পর্কে সমাজ বিজ্ঞানীরা এক একজন এক এক রকম মতামত প্রকাশ করেছে। তবে সবকিছু মিলিয়ে এবং সবকিছু বিচার বিশ্লেষণ করে সামাজিক পরিবর্তন বলতে তাকে বোঝায় যে সামাজিক পরিবর্তন হচ্ছে কোন জাতির জীবন ব্যবস্থার সামগ্রিক পরিবর্তন। সামাজিক পরিবর্তন সংঘটিত হয় কখনো মন্থর আবার কখনো দ্রুত গতিতে। এই পরিবর্তনের প্রভাব অর্থনীতি রাজনীতি সমাজনীতি ধর্মীয় মূল্যবোধ সনাতন জীবনব্যবস্থাকে ও গভীরভাবে স্পর্শ করে। সমাজের সৃজনশীল কর্মকাণ্ড লাভ করে নতুন গতি। উন্মুক্ত হয় জ্ঞান-বিজ্ঞানের নতুন নতুন শাখা ও কলাকৌশল। সৃষ্টি হয় নতুন সৃষ্টির উম্মাদনা এবং শুরু হয় নতুন সমাজ গঠনের প্রক্রিয়া।
