SocialGraph Foundation Budget Report 2020-08-09

in socialgraph •  4 years ago  (edited)

The Blurt Foundation is a division of the SocialGraph Foundation, which serves the function of stewardship of funds for the enhancement of Blurt and other SocialGraph baby chains.

Transparency is the mantra of the foundation and the intent is to issue regular budget reports to the community to openly communicate the use of foundation funds.

In this budget report there are a couple of areas of short term expenditure:

  1. Retainer stake for @ericet for core infrustructure development and maintenance
  2. Down payment to @cryptomancer for integrating a REST api into Blurtd

1. Retainer Stake for @ericet for core infrustructure development and maintenance

The word Superstar comes to mind when describing @ericet, it is amazing how much one single person has done for this project and has not once sought praise, recognition or payment.

Much of the work he does is behind the scenes, but rest assured, he has improved the Blurt experience for the entire community.

The Socialgraph foundation hereby awards @ericet 150 000 Blurt Power in retainer stake for past and ongoing works including, but not limited to:

1.1) Setup, rebranding, enhancement and ongoing maintenance of the official blurtwallet.com

1.2) Rebranding, enhancement and ongoing maintenance of the official blurt.world user interface. Some great enhancements include the new voting slider popup and fees signposting before executing any fee-based transaction

1.3) Setup, rebranding and ongoing maintenance of the official block explorer, blocks.blurtwallet.com with great features such as the live Blurt prices (including High and low), median blockchain fees rate, inflation rate, proposals and the all-new Richlist.

1.4) Maintenance of official nodes rpc.blurt.world and api.blurt.blog

1.5) Creation and maintenance of the signup page https://signup.blurtwallet.com/

1.6) Ongoing technical advice and troubleshooting

In addition to the aforementioned core foundation work, @ericet also runs a few projects for the benefit of the community such as the signup app https://register.blurt.buzz, public node https://rpc.blurt.buzz and Dino a Discord bot for Blurt.

2. Down payment to @cryptomancer for integrating a REST api into Blurtd

The Blurt SocialGraph foundation has engaged @cryptomancer to research integrating a REST api into Blurtd with OpenApi standards. REST is one of the most widely used api formats, more so than the current json api of Blurtd, the idea behind this integration is to make Blurt more accessible to first-time blockchain developers by lowering the learning curve barrier.

@cryptomancer is as bank-grade C++ developer, having previously worked for a global bank, he is however now full-time crypto as CFO of BuildTeam and core developer at Splinterlands, Hive-Engine and Privex.

The foundation has awarded @cryptomancer a 10 000 BLURT deposit to research the current Blurt api nodes and suggest tigher integration with Blurd, utilising OpenApi and REST technologies. A further quote will be provided once the scope and complexity of work has been established.

We look forward to building a close relationship with @cryptomancer as we value his skillset and his professional good nature.

Keep at it @ericet you rock! Great to see @cryptomancer has been engaged to examine feasibility around a potential REST api. Thanks for the update.
