The AFCON soccer fixture between Morroco and Malawi kicked off at exactly 19:00 GMT +1 at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo (Yaoundé) and officiating the match was Pacifique Ndabihawenimana

17' Charles Thomu (Malawi) pulls off a great save to deny Imran Louza (Morocco), who makes himself some space inside the box and unleashes a quick shot towards the middle of the goal.

23' Mhango G. (Malawi) gets into a good position and recieves a good pass but shoots the ball wide of the left post.

27' Achraf Hakimi (Morocco) stands over the free kick and opts to take it himself, sending it towards the top right corner only for Charles Thomu to dive and make a save.

33' Madinga F ( Malawi) makes it too obvious by fouling an opponent. He is booked for his action (yellow card).

35' Romain Saiss (Morocco) wasted a golden opportunity after expertly receiving a cross from the free kick and shooting from close range. Unfortunately for him, his aim was off and he hit the crossbar!

41' Achraf Hakimi (Morocco) latches onto a pass and lets fly at goal from the edge of the box. The shot beats the keeper but smashes against the left post. Good effort!

42' Sofiane Boufal (Morocco) unleashes a promising shot towards the middle of the goal after his wonderful solo run, but Charles Thomu thwarts the effort with a fabulous save. The score remains the same.

44' Sofiane Boufal (Morocco) receives a brilliant pass and wastes a big opportunity as his shot from inside the penalty area flies just over the crossbar.

45+2' Selim Amallah displays his great technique and produces a beautiful lofted cross deep into the box. Youssef En Nesyri (Morocco) gets onto the scoresheet by superbly heading it into the roof of the net – 1:1.

45+4' The referee stops play so that a substitution can be made and Gerald Phiri Junior (Malawi) comes onto the pitch for Micium Mhone.

45+5' Pacifique Ndabihawenimana has ended the first half by blowing the whistle.

66' It's been a while since that incident in the box, but the ref must have received some information as he makes the VAR signal. He's going to review that earlier penalty shout! What a chance for Morocco.

67' It’s the correct decision – NO PENALTY for Morocco! VAR comes to the rescue of referee Pacifique Ndabihawenimana and both teams have no complaints

69' The referee couldn't ignore those comments and Gabadinho Mhango (Malawi) sees a yellow card for bad language.

70' Achraf Hakimi (Morocco) fired the free kick home. He curled the ball over the wall and it bounced in off the inside of the right post. A technically stunning goal

78' Mario Marinica had decided to make a change. Mark Fodya (Malawi) replaced Francisco Madinga.

79' Substitution. Stanley Sanudi did his best and was replaced by Stain Davie (Malawi).

80' The referee stopped play so that a substitution could be made and Chimwemwe Idana trots off the pitch and was replaced by Robin Ngalande (Malawi).

80' Aymen Barkok (Morocco) joined the action as a substitute, replacing Imran Louza.

81' Vahid Halilhodzic decided to make a substitution. Sofiane Boufal was replaced by Munir El Haddadi (Morocco).

88' A substitution was made. Youssef En Nesyri was replaced by Zakaria Aboukhlal (Morocco).

90+5' Pacifique Ndabihawenimana blew his whistle to bring the game to an end.
