My day began with the softest light filtering through the clouds, the world hushed and expectant, as I embarked on the first leg of my trek before the workday buzz. The path lay empty, my only companions the occasional bird and the sound of my own footsteps. Each step was a silent conversation with the sleepy earth, a gentle rousing as the day began to stir.

By lunchtime, the sky had turned a deeper shade of melancholy, but my resolve only brightened. I snatched the minutes greedily, striding along the canal where ducks paddled by, unperturbed by the human mimicking their pace on land.
