Spiked in the eye by my aloe vera but it's all good 🌵

Remember those cute kittens who like to sleep around the pots of aloe vera?

image.png

Well, I was playing with them around those pots and the inevitable happened. Poked in the eye by a spike. In fact, my energy was off in that moment and I can't blame it on the cats at all. It was a lesson like all things in life and at the very least it has prompted me to sit down and write a post, which appear to be few and far between these days. Too much stuff going on.

So yes, the aloe vera. It got me good. You can see it clearly if I look right.

IMG_4758.jpeg

I was lucky it wasn't worst to be honest and there is some talk now of moving the aloe vera but like I said, we can't blame anyone (or anything) for my mistake. This is my first eye injury and I will simply be more careful next time.

I don't feel as if I need to do anything and trust it will get better when it is ready. It doesn't hurt too much and hasn't affected my vision.

Happy at least I am able to play the crazy guy quite well now.

Or what about the zombie?

IMG_4750.jpeg

You can call my agent if you're looking ;)

As for the cats, they are still playing with my plants, generally causing chaos and enticing me to play with them.

Just a quick one this time.

Love & Light everyone 🌱

When I saw the post title I giggled and thought, "Dude, only you." The I saw that yeah, you got poked good. Ouch!. I'm glad you are okay and yeah, should heal up nice.

Of course, being you, you had some fun with it. Awesome pics. Loved the zombie!

If we can't laugh at our own misfortune or mistakes they may very well eat us up completely. Like a zombie!

Have barely had time to notice it to be honest. Yesterday was fruit & nut tree re-potting day and man it was a tough one. Had to move a bunch of soil up a hill! More to do today still...

Hey Sam, welcome to Blurt! Most of my upvotes go to waste because I can't find much good content here, so it's nice to have you on the platform! When I got chased off Hive I couldn't really leave anymore comments, to talk to you and my other friends about coming here. But I've moved most of my Hive earnings over here now, and hoping this place doesn't implode like everywhere else I've provided content for in the past 15+ years! I had a viral channel on YT in 2009, was totally censored by 2014, banned from FB and most other platforms in 2018, Steem forked and we left for Hive, now they're censoring me and removing my income on Hive... so here I am on Spurt : ) Fingers crossed, eh?
Sorry about the eye! Should be fine. Maybe give it a little aloe vera? ; D
EDIT: Saw your long list of posts here.... wow! Had no idea you've been here this long. I've been using Blurt full time for 2 months and haven't seen you once! Anyway, glad to have stumbled across your post... belated welcome to the platform :))

Hey buddy! Thanks for the belated welcome. You've sure had a rough ride in relation to social media but I am happy you stuck it out and happier still that you and Katie are here. Brave move putting it all into Blurt. Could well pay off in spades. Really need to find myself a new posting system. So much going on I feel overwhelmed when I sit down to write a post. Perhaps I will simply try focusing on one story at a time.

The eye is okay I think. Feel like I can see the blood in the corner of my vision which is weird (and impossible?) but there is very minimal pain and I don't notice it most of the time.

Right, it's time to drag the children out of bed and go direct to the garden. On Sundays they eat breakfast there while we play with our plants ;)

Catch you later!

Thanks for the reply - glad you are here!
But I hear you on the too-many-platforms issue. And perhaps there's a bit of "not sure I should trust it" going on as well. But you've been here longer than I have (I had no idea!), so you'd know better than I would, if this place is legit. Seems like you've been making some decent coin on a regular basis? Have you tried pulling out (powering down, transferring out) yet? Cuz once you know for sure you can do that, what's stopping you? You're reaching people here, you actually have thoughtful comments taking place, and you're making money. If that money is then able to be turned into other cryptos, or other things entirely, you've got the trifecta, as far as I see it! If you pumped a bit of your holdings into Blurt, you could move your curation efforts over here, and I think that would greatly boost your growth and income. Right now seems like you're in too many places! But hey, I totally get the attachment to Hive... I was going to stay with it as long as I possibly could. But the whales decided my turn had come and I hadn't greased the right palms. Nothing you can do at that point if your rep is under 77 or so, and/or you don't have millions of HIVE. They even told me: "If you struggle, it's going to hurt more". Sick fuckers over there. The downvote tool makes every difference in the world. Night and day.
I'm glad you seem to be on the mend. Eye problems suck! I've never poked mine, but I've had issues in there a few times, and it's not cool. You realize how important your eyes really are, all of a sudden! Not that we don't know that already, but once they're not working perfectly, we start to appreciate them more. I guess it's that way with a lot of things. Hmmm. :)
Best to you buddy.

I haven't personally tried powering down and selling but I know others who have, so I don't have any doubts about that. And as a trusting person I do trust the people behind this platform but as with many projects it is possible that they start out with good intentions only to ultimately sell the project or re-arrange it in some way which puts the people off and then the price crashes. I think we must always look at this kind of income as high risk. Like trading in fact! You can earn a lot, but you can see it all turn to dust if you are not quick on your toes when the shit hits the fan. Bit like what happened to the 100 LUNA I still had left before it crashed to zero. Thankfully I had sold the other 900 before that moment so I don't really care, but again this is about covering yourself during these early days of crypto in which pretty much anything can happen. So I would say if this is your main posting place it would be sensible to cash out on occasion and convert to other cryptos which have already withstood the test of time.

I do agree that if I were to buy blurt with the intention to curate & comment more on the work of others here, it would certainly boost my income. However, time is my big issue as you know and hive has an automatic voting system (hive.vote) which does my voting for me. So this give me my time back, while still permitting me to vote for the work of those I consider to be consistently great. Does Blurt have an equivalent to hive.vote? Am guessing it doesn't.

"If you struggle, it's going to hurt more".

Crazy. Sounds like they take a lot of pleasure from their position of power and I am sorry you have had to experience the brunt of their ego. But I am sure you know at least that people like this always get what is coming to them in the end and the true definition of happiness they will never know. Who knows, perhaps blurt will shoot to the moon so ultimately they will have done you a big favour! The main trick with this crypto game is to always take profits when something goes up a mouthwatering amount. Then if it crashes to zero tomorrow, you still win.

A Canadian, a German, and an American living in tropical countries walk into a blockchain...

; ) Right, @outofthematrix and @world-travel-pro?!

But seriously, you will be joining us sooner or later. I hope it will be sooner! Just know you're welcome when you're ready (or when you have no other choice). I'm pretty sure you would fit right in. We've got a good core crew forming here, reading/supporting each others' posts and comments, planning to help each other grow and make it big. We are selling Hive, and powering up Blurt. I kept 2000 HIVE powered up to support you and my other friends sticking around, but now I'm realizing that's just shooting myself in the foot. Encouraging people to stay on HIVE doesn't make sense anymore for me - especially since I can't really comment or post there. So it will soon all be here, ready to support you full time if you join the inner circle!

"Does Blurt have an equivalent to hive.vote? Am guessing it doesn't."

I think the development goes where the content-creators and investors go. People stay with what's safe and easy. But all it would take is one HIVE whale to buy BLURT, and the entire game tilts heavily (and probably permanently) in our direction. And then Blurt will have automatic voting and all that within weeks.

"But I am sure you know at least that people like this always get what is coming to them in the end and the true definition of happiness they will never know."

Yes, but be very careful, as they are scouring these Blurt comments relentlessly, looking for their next victims on Hive. They get (temporary) happiness using their ill-gotten-gains to do (permanent) damage to others.

"Who knows, perhaps blurt will shoot to the moon so ultimately they will have done you a big favour!"

Yes, for sure! I wrote about exactly that, just a few days ago.

Have a great day over there!

Lol😂😂 hahaha this is really funny you are a comedian 😅

I should have been an actor ;)

In fact I was a film maker. Have just been standing on the wrong side of the camera all my life!

Hahaha you are also a comedian 😅 add that to it

Oh crap, you're part of the one eye club now. I'll be watching your posts now to see if you start advocating for why we need to put our faith in the media and governments, hahaha.

I'm just playing. That eye must be pretty annoying with that blood over it, although you say it doesn't effect your vision much.

My mom has a lot of aloe vera plants at her house. A great plant with many uses.

Hope it heals fast for you.

I always was part of the one eye club! That's why I use one of my eyes as my avatar ;)

And yes, the irony of being garrotted by a plant with such amazing healing properties is not lost on me.

One can't help but laugh! Thankfully it is healing very quickly and life continues with its usual way.

All the best to you :)

....you need to put some aloe vera cream on tha....ohhhhhhhh.....

Yeah right. The irony of my situation is not lost on me!

In fact, yesterday we removed the offending spike and drank it in our smoothie.

Let's see if that speeds up the healing process...
