Dealing with Sick People

in sick •  yesterday

Last evening I was talking to my best friend. She is not in a very good state right now as there are lot of issues at her home. Her mother-in-law is on the last stage of Cancer and she has to deal with all the care part. It's very sad, because they know that she only has a few more days left to live. The Doctors have already given up, she is very old to go through any procedures. She stays in London and there getting help is not as easy as one can get in India. It is very expensive also, so she has to deal all of it by herself. It is a challenge to manage the home, a child and an ailing family member.

I wish I could go to her and give her some help, but I cannot even do that on immediate basis, because I have to get a visa to travel and the UK visa takes almost a month, so by the time I get it probably her Mother-in-law will be no more :-( She needs help right now and I am not able to do anything for her, which makes me sad. The sadder part is that even her Father who stays in India has Throat Cancer and he is also not doing very well, so right now she is torn apart between these 2 places. Her heart wants to be with her Father but she has to be there taking care of her mother-in-law as her condition is serious.

All my life I have dealt with sick people and I know how draining it can be. All my childhood I had to deal with my dad's sickness, he had brain tumor and multiple other complications. For the last 4 years I was majority of the time in hospital with him. Then later on was my Mother-in-law who had Chronic Kidney issues and she was also in and out of hospital dealing with dialysis and what not. Also I lived in joint family then, so anyone from the family had any health issues, it was like an unwritten rule to tend to them. Later was my hubby Myasthenia condition that we fought for 4 years. Phewww, sometimes when I look back, I feel, I spent more time in hospitals and around sick people then my normal life.

When one person from our home is sick, it is like the entire family dealing with the sickness. Especially the close ones, their lives also get disturbed. I am feeling very helpless for my friend right now. I just pray for her that she finds strength to deal with all of this.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Health is wealth
And I guess we should always watch after our health

With good health, we can achieve wealth.
And it is also true that with wealth, we can improve our health.
In today's world, health and wealth are closely related.

I'm sorry to hear that about your friend. It sounds very frustrating for her. Distance is such a problem even in the modern world. And then made worse by things like passports and visas, which in my opinion really should not be needed, or at least should never be so restrictive. It's another way the state controls the people. We really saw it bad during the Covid plandemic, but it continues on today. And you're very right that the Western world's healthcare system is expensive and slow. I am living through that here in Canada right now. I would love to seek help elsewhere if I had the money and the passports/visas to do it! I am currently trying to find myself some Ivermectin tablets, which are cheap and available around the world... except in the West they are demonized and hard to find. So I'm appealing to friends overseas, and looking on foreign websites, trying to get some help. Here in the West, many think we have it good, but this is not 1970 anymore. You make this point well in your post. You're a true friend to care so much for your best friend in London. I hope the situation improves soon.
