Buenas noches amigos, acabo de ver el capitulo final de esta espectacular serie trasmitida por HBO MAX, LOS PLOMEROS DE LA CASA BLANCA. Una vez mas Hollywood se toma la molestia de contarnos la historia de como la incursión de 5 hombres en las oficinas del comite del partido democrata la noche del 17 de junio de 1972 harían caer a Richard Nixon, Presidente electo de los Estados Unidos. De entrada esta historia me la sabía al dedillo y digo que me la sabia porque sinceramente esta serie me demuestra que siempre hay mas de una forma de contar la misma historia y hacerla interesante.
Good evening friends, I just watched the final chapter of this spectacular series broadcast on HBO MAX, THE WHITE HOUSE PLUMBERS. Once again Hollywood takes the trouble to tell us the story of how the raid of 5 men on the offices of the Democratic Party committee on the night of June 17, 1972 would bring down Richard Nixon, President-elect of the United States. From the outset I knew this story by heart and I say that I knew it because honestly this series shows me that there is always more than one way to tell the same story and make it interesting.
En Los Plomeros de la Casa Blanca, no nos van aburrir con aburridos informes, los cortes de las cintas de audio hechas en la Casa Blanca, tampoco veremos el careto de Nixon, solo al final en escenas de archivos reales, es la unica forma en que verán a Nixon en esta serie, Los Plomeros se adentran en la historia de los dos hombres que conformaron y dirigieron la operación, el ex agente de la CIA Howard Hunt (Woody Harrelson) y el ex agente del FBI Gordon Liddy (Justin Theroux), ambos con una trabajo impresionante en sus caracterizaciones cargando con el peso de la serie, lo mejor de todo es que usando, el sarcasmo, el humor negro, nos cuentan la historia ridicula de lo que paso aquella noche.

En el sitio IMDB la serie esta categorizada como Biografica, Drama e Historica, yo le hubiera agregado COMEDIA con letras grandes, pese a explotar el humor desde el principio hasta el final, todos los hechos que nos cuentan en la serie en realidad pasaron, eso la hace aun mucho mas disfrutable, por supuesto nos aclaran en varias oportunidades que con fines dramaticos algunos dialogos fueron inventados, pero los hechos que nos muestran pasaron, la cosa es tan absurda que aquella noche del 17 de junio fue el quinto, si el quinto intento de este grupo de espias, de ingresar a las oficinas del comite del partido democrata.
On the IMDB site, the series is categorized as Biographical, Drama and Historical, I would have added COMEDY with large letters, despite exploiting humor from the beginning to the end, all the events that they tell us in the series actually happened, that it makes it even more enjoyable, of course they make it clear to us on several occasions that for dramatic purposes some dialogues were invented, but the events that they show us happened, the thing is so absurd that that night of June 17 was the fifth, yes the fifth attempt by this group of spies to break into the offices of the Democratic Party committee.
Harrelson y Theroux no estan solos, los acompañan en el reparto sus esposas, Lena Headay, si la Reina Cersei interpretando a Dorothy Hunt, gran actuación y no se dejen engañar por las primeras de cambio, ella es pieza importante de la historia, y Judy Greer como Fran Liddy. Me diverti mucho viendo esta serie, lamentablemente solo dura 5 capitulos entre 45 minutos y 1 hora de duración, pero esta muy bien hecha, perfecta ambientación, los dialogos son una locura, y de verdad quedas con la sensación al final que Watergate fue una gran broma.
Harrelson and Theroux are not alone, they are accompanied in the cast by their wives, Lena Headay, yes Queen Cersei playing Dorothy Hunt, great performance and don't be fooled by the first changes, she is an important piece of history, and Judy Greer as Fran Liddy. I had a lot of fun watching this series, unfortunately it only lasts 5 episodes between 45 minutes and 1 hour, but it is very well done, perfect setting, the dialogues are crazy, and you really have the feeling at the end that Watergate was a great joke.
