Those who think that God has glorified their terrible crimes against others astound a lot of us. Even believers are terrified of them since they are still doing destruction around the world. People cannot deny having the capacity to discern what is right and wrong in their hearts, regardless of where they have lived or their religious beliefs. But the ability to deceive oneself overrides men's and women's inner awareness, allowing for terrible deeds against mankind.

We must look more closely at ourselves before we can assess others. Despite knowing that our behaviors are bad, how often do we excuse ourselves from our self-centered and immoral behavior? Should we not consistently maintain our faith, we are likewise vulnerable to the influence of self-deception.

For the most part, a great deal of us will never go so far as to perform terrorist acts. However, we spread rumors that have the power to ruin someone else's reputation. We give succumb to the delights of extramarital affairs even when we are not married. Every day, we bolster our ego and stubbornness and provide justifications for our lies that we cover up with exaggerations. In the home of faith, this is not how it should be.

If we are prepared to acknowledge our sins, turn from our sins, and humble ourselves, the Lord offers us a path out. Self-deception can be defeated by accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of all. Being personal with Jesus and getting to the core of our problems is what this "knowing" entails; it goes beyond simply being acquainted with him. Too much love exists for Him to allow us to keep tricking ourselves with wicked actions. We think there's a path that's right, but in order to avoid the eternal death trap, we have to raise the bar of righteousness to that of Jesus Christ.
