Everyone should have an encrypted email, this is my choice.

With things going the way they are, having secure email becomes ever more important! Communication is critical to information exchange, and secure communication is the holy grail of prepping. For true prepping communication, you should study on Ham radio; but before the SHTF, consider this!

Here is my choice:
https://proton.me/mail?
I have no affiliation with this company, and one email as well as one VPN; is free. They are based in Switzerland, so they are under the most stringent security protocols in the World! Included is a 64 bit encryption, so emails are safer from hacking than hillery's.

If you want more services, they offer them for a good price. I have used them for over 2 years, and they have been flawless! I'm considering monthly multiple emails and VPN's.

Gmail is recorded and datamined, Yahoo is also recorded but I'm not sure on the data mining.

Combining this with duckduckgo for web searching, plays hell on the dataminers! Turning off the GPS helps, but remember Every time you open an app, Google records where you are and what you were there for; including the IMEI number of your Specific phone! This database is the one used in the movie 2000 miles, and can be used for criminal prosecution.

So, I have removed all possible apps from my phone, and if I must use one; I open the proton mail VPN, and then tell them I'm overseas! My job is to obfuscate (confuse) my data so thoroughly, so that they are unable to sell my information!!!!

I finally just got my proton set up last week because my hotmail has been taken from me because apparently 'Israel' logged into my 'microsoft account' which means I've lost my one drive, skype, hotmail and everything else connected.
Meh no biggie, they'd been spamming me with 20 spam emails a day for the last couple months so was gonna fry it anyway.
I'm finding proton quite hard to adapt to but getting there. I also set up a yahoo mail for less private stuff.
I would highly recommend Presearch as a better search engine than Duckduck now tho as they have sold out recently. I used duckduck for years too. Shame. Presearch is very good tho. I also switched to the Brave browser which is fantastic!!

Sorry you had trouble! Glad you got proton mail running. I have a Yahoo account myself for daily non secured use!

I'll look at Presearch, sounds interesting. Simple security isn't as easy as it used to be! I'm considering the dark web on an isolated machine, just to look around.

😭👎👹🤬💩

OMG I'd love to have a peek at that but would not wanna be alone, I'd need someone to hold my hand 🤣

It may be the only internet left If the liberals are successful. Just wanting to get a run at it!

I'm sure you can find a hand holder locally, ROFLOL!

Good luck!

👍🤠💗😁

If I could find a hand-holder I wouldn't be saying it. No hand-holders round here nope.

You need to expand the hunt! Take a set of handcuffs into a likely location. When you find someone interested in the cuffs, put one on him, and one on you; them tell the justice of the peace has the key....

A shotgun helps too, LOL!

I switched from hotmail to protonmail a couplke years ago, too. I find it low in basic features, for example you can only create 2 folders for your emails before they want you to pay. I have also heard it is not completely private, decentralized, or secure... but obviously it's better than gmail and friends. Just don't necessarily trust it completely. Don't trust anything you do in a digital device, in fact. It's all tracked and recorded, and nothing will ultimately remain hidden. That doesn't mean I'm not a privacy fanatic and advocate! Been banging that drum for 15+ years.

They are constrained by Local be data privacy laws, so they will need to work for everything they data mine!

The limited features in their email service, have never bothered me. I either read and delete, or store what I want to keep.

That said, publishing online always places is at some risk for private data breaches.

I also run Linex instead of Windows or Apple O.S.; which drives them nuts!
