Here in Tulsa, they have a gun show twice a year; that is the largest gun show anywhere!
It looks like this inside:
This is from the middle of the building, and shows a little over 5 acres on the lower half; on the south side!
Here's the rest of the lower half:
My camera just can't catch it all in one picture! This is the North side of the lower east end.
Here is the top side from the north west corner:
This is the additional 6 acres half, on the top of west end of the building. This half is where I did all my shopping, found all I needed before going down the ramp to the lower half.
I bought a few things:
1000 rounds of 5.56, a couple of ammo cans (I seem to keep filling them), found 2 boxes of .357, 6 Glock mags (33 rounds), one AR9 magazine adapter, a new backpack, and my neighbor found a Tarus 9mm. I was looking for a 50 calibre flint lock rifle, but they wanted $2000 for the least expensive one! Gonna have to build one....
Here's the reason I say this is the largest in the World:
Simply because it is, ROFLOL!
The reason is the building itself:
It is 3/8th of a mile long, and is cable supported, outside like a cable span bridge; so the inside has no central supports!
Construction that was contested when it was designed:
This is the cable on one external support beam! There were a lot of questions about wether this building would stand up to local storms. Those questions have now been answered, the architect sure new his stuff!
I got a really good parking spot:
We only had to walk a quarter mile to the front door... LOL! Now you know why I brought the 3 wheel gun caddy to carry the purchased ammunition!
This building was originally the IPE center, so they put the free standing statue in front called the Golden Driller:
The IPE (International Petroleum Exposition) was built when Tulsa was still the Oil Capitol of the World! They used the immense building to set up oil field equipment for sale, as it would be set up in the field! The golden driller fell into disrepair after the IPE moved, but Tulsa has redone him and and fully restored him!
Here is a perspective shot:
This is his shoe, with someone leaning against it to rest a little! He's a Big boy....
It was a good run, and I found some real deals. It was a solid 5 mile hike LOL!
If you're in Tulsa next year In early April, try to come. It's only $10! But be ready to Walk a lot, because there is 11 acres of concrete under this roof!
Wow that must take same time to get around the show 😱 glad you got some deals etc.
I saw less than half of it, but I ran out of cash! I just need to be rich....
