In a new find, a crater on Mars contains enough water to cover the planet 1.5-2 meters deep.
There is more water in ice on Mars than there is water volume in the Red Sea.
This is crazy when you think about Elon Musk and his wish to colonize Mars. This could be the source needed to do so.
It's worth doing, if we do it right. We need to get a few things sorted out, and off-world colonies will be part of the picture. What if a planet-killed asteroid hits Earth? We need backups. Water is life.
Yes. My concern is that there will be fee life rafts offworld when it happens.
What do you mean?
Sorry, meant few life rafts to Mars if we face a threat to Earth's ecosystem. I think we n Ed to divert money from the defense industry to clean energy and remediation technology. I worked at a company that made water purification systems and they made a fortune off it. We can save the Earth with investment into novel technology. I am a fan of artificial photosynthesis and solar technology.
Me too. We should use new technology (especially based on solar) to protect ourselves from a planet-level event. Sometimes, those come out of the blue... and you don't have much warning or time. I think the life rafts have to be sent before that happens, which of course could be any year now.
