Background
Satoshi Nakamoto was the first person to develop, write a white paper on, and create and implement the original reference implementation of Bitcoin.
In October 2008, Nakamoto published a white paper describing the digital currency titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" on the metzdowd.com crypto mailing list.
Then, in January 2009, Nakamoto released version 0.1 of the Bitcoin software on SourceForge and launched the first network by defining the Bitcoin Genesis block (block number 0) with a reward of 50 bitcoins.
Nakamoto was active in Bitcoin development until December 2010. He then handed over control of further development to Gavin Andresen.
Many people claim, or have claimed, to be Nakamoto. Including Hal Finney, Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto, Nick Szabo, Craig Wright, etc.
However, many people assume that Nakamoto may be a group of people. For example, security researcher Dan Kaminski said that Nakamoto could be "a team of people" or actually "a genius".
Gavin Andresen said that Nakamoto is a brilliant and unique coder. His use of British English is native-level, both in source code comments and in forum posts.
Stefan Thomas, a software engineer from Switzerland, has graphed the timestamp of each of Nakamoto's posts. This shows that there are very few posts between 5:00 am and 11:00 am Greenwich Mean Time. This may be due to the fact that Nakamoto was sleeping at those hours.
The Real Satoshi?
A person claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto has answered questions on the popular Q&A site Quora as if he were the inventor of Bitcoin.

This "Satoshi" emphasized that he is the creator of Bitcoin, adding that he lives in Bali, Indonesia.
This Bali-based Satoshi states that he is the real Satoshi Nakamoto, not the Australian Craig Wright.
Satoshi told Bitcoin.com that his old email ([email protected]) was hijacked a few years ago and so he could not sign messages with his private key.
A series of events occurred in 2010, and Satoshi lost all his private keys. That is the reason why he decided to quit Bitcoin development.
There is a profile page on Facebook for Satoshi Nakamoto, who lives in Bali.

Satoshi also wrote that he is staying at the Berry Biz Hotel and can be reached by phone through front desk.
Do you live in Bali? Then be happy, you may meet Satoshi Nakamoto.
