Nature, which has lost its balance after global warming and wars, floods the world and eliminates the future hopes of everyone living in it. For people who have lost hope for the future, the most valuable treasure is the memories of the past.
A device is developed to reminisce about the past and it grows in popularity day by day. In such a fiction, it is understandable that people who have lost their future turn to their past memories. I admit that in today's world, refreshing memories with people who have passed away and reliving the same moments is something that even I would want.
Released in 2021, Reminiscence, a movie produced in the United States of America, reminds us of the values we have today and gives us a glimpse of what might happen if we lose them.
While the disappearing future makes people hold on to the past even more, the ongoing income proportional categorization is quite disturbing. At some moments, the discomfort is so great that the damage done by the minority to the majority reaches the level of rebellion.
Old friends don't make enemies. Hugh Jackman, whom I remember from the X-Men movies and whose acting I like in every movie I've seen, plays the character of Nick Bannister in Reminiscence, the user of the device used to reminisce about past memories.
With the character of Nick Bannister, Hugh Jackman is not only the user of the device throughout the movie, but also the person who directs the movie. The romantic aspect of the character who relives thousands of past memories is undeniable, of course, but the ups and downs of the action and mystery aspects of his acting fit him very well with the analogy of the love man in Reminiscence.
While people reminisce about their past lives, they are also deciphering their past lives. And each past memory that emerges triggers new events. While the events in question sprout a love, they connect scenes full of betrayal, intrigue and action with the developments that emerge.
With all these factors, the movie Reminiscence, thanks to its great editing and processing, unites the story in a unique way and reflects it on the screen without causing any confusion. In a story where the past memories of more than one person are deciphered, it is impossible not to trigger a sense of curiosity. The sense of curiosity that arises in the characters at those moments is reflected on the audience.
I recommend you to watch the movie without thinking. My admiration for Hugh Jackman went up a notch through the character of Nick Bannister. I hope I don't come across a bad movie by the actor after this time because I don't want the effect he created to be lost for a while. I wish a good time to everyone who will watch it.
