Nice find this weekend.

I have always been a rock hound. Colleting, studying, tumbling and polishing rocks has always been another of my favourite hobbies. I have always thought of rocks as natures art. I am fascinated with the multitude of shapes, sizes and colours. Searching for them is more fun than treasure hunt. I was one of those nerds as as a kid, who spent more time collecting bugs and rocks than doing anything else. I always had rocks in my pockets and on my dresser and shelves in my room. I even had a box full, that was separated into compartments where I had them all labeled with what kinds of rocks each were. I remember, our neighbour who worked for the Ministry of Natural Resources, would bring home new rocks for me and tell me what they were called and where they were found. Of course, as I got older and life got busier, I didn’t have as much time to spend on collect as I used too, but I still would always have some rocks that I found on a window sill or somewhere. Lately I have started picking it up a little again. I purchased a tumbler and spend much of my time at camp rock hounding along the shores of Lake Superior where you can find some very nice Lake Superior Agates.

We have two batches on the go right now. One is on the final polish and the other one is one the first stage of grit.
