It's not the right way to inspire people to follow their aspirations or to be doers to tell them to just take risks, regardless of whether they're worth it or not. Every action has repercussions in life, and we should always consider these repercussions before taking any action. We will learn that not all risks are worthwhile to take if we are able to analyze every action or risk we intend to take. Some dangers will literally drain you of all your energy, leaving you miserable and high and dry.
You must ask yourself the six crucial questions listed below and respond honestly and completely before you take any risks:
What poses a risk in this action?
What would this deprive me of? That is, how much will it cost you to see the activity through to completion?
Should I begin this? Is it something I can finish?
Is this action worthwhile, based on what I've learned, to be taken?
Keep in mind that you will be the one to grade your answers to the questions above. You must therefore be as honest with yourself as you can.
Before you should contemplate taking the risk, you need to know what the outcome of the action you are going to do will be and how much it will cost you to get there. We don't need to complicate our life by engaging in fruitless excursions only to have the reputation of being daring. Not every adventure is worthwhile. There is no use in starting an adventure if the costs involved are significantly greater than the enjoyment or benefit you would receive from it.
Understanding why you've decided to take the risk is more significant than actually taking the risk. The "why" will provide you a hint as to what the risk is and how to approach it. Many of us have taken steps in the past to show ourselves and those around us that we are capable of doing what we set out to do. The unfortunate fact is that most of us commit such crimes and are unable to save ourselves or the others we were trying to convince.
The likelihood that you will win when you gamble with your life is quite tiny since life, the ultimate bookmaker, is incredibly skilled at what it does. An action is considered "risky" if there are potential negative outcomes. You don't commit such an act in an effort to impress anyone or even yourself. You take such action because you have carefully considered it and determined that if you see it through to the finish, it would add interest and value to your life.
Never consider doing anything that could change the direction of your life without carefully weighing the benefits and drawbacks. Most everything we encounter in life, whether they are favorable or unfavorable, are under our control in some way. Do not put yourself in a disadvantageous situation in order to show others that you are capable of doing something. Not only taking risks, but calculated risks are what wise men do.
Every time you commit risky activities without thoroughly considering the consequences of such acts, you leave yourself vulnerable to the whims of life. The excitement is not in taking the risk, but rather in seeing how it will affect our life. Negative results make the risk harmful and not worth taking. I'll say it again: "Not all risks are worthwhile taking!"
So, exercise wisdom and caution in how you live. Remember that knowing why taking a risk is required is more important than actually taking the risk.
