Fertilization is usually done by spreading or spraying. Over time, this activity has become more sophisticated, namely the use of unmanned aircraft or drones.
With drones, farmers do not need to walk around the fields and spend time. With drones, fertilization can only be done by sitting in place and you don't need to be tired around the fields.

Fertilization using drones can be seen in the Prime Planting activity of the Prosperous Program in Sukamanah Hamlet, Kutawargi Village, Rawamerta District, Karawang Regency, Thursday.

Production Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) Bob Indiarto explained, the Prosperity Program was launched by the Minister of SOE Erick Thohir on August 28, 2021. Through this program, Pupuk Indonesia builds an ecosystem that can provide convenience for farmers to cultivate.
Through this program, it is expected to increase agricultural productivity. Thus, it has an impact on increasing farmers' income.

"The Prosperous Program prioritizes the use of commercial fertilizers from the Pupuk Indonesia Group," he said.

SVP Enterprise Account Management Telkomsel, Dharma Simorangkir said, Telkomsel participated in the Prosperous Program through agricultural technology. One of them is through the development of drones for agricultural activities.

What we saw earlier is both a small part of the implementation of the digital food ecosystem that we are developing. So this drone technology helps do actual work, which indeed makes difficult and complicated work easier for us," he said.

He said, if the usual fertilization for 1 ha takes 3 to 5 days. Using this drone only takes 10 minutes. So, there is plenty of time to do other activities.

"Earlier we could do 1 ha in 10 minutes," he said.
