Victory Run is a racing game for the TurboGrafx-16 that allows you to race in the Paris-Dakar Rally. It is very similar to games like Rad Racer and Outrun. You race your car through various tracks from a viewpoint that is behind and slightly above your car while avoiding traffic and other obstacles.
Victory Run does add a little twist to the aforementioned games of this genre by allowing you to select a number of spare parts before the first race. As you continue to race, parts will degrade and they can be replaced assuming you have the appropriate spares. However, the real downfall of this game is the lack of variety. The tracks are all too similar and obstacles too repetitive. In addition, the graphics are just ok. They are a touch above what the NES could provide but don't really show what the TG-16 can do.
Still, if you like the genre of racing games represented by the likes of Outrun and Rad Racer then you will probably enjoy this game. It isn't a game I would have ever recommended paying full price for when it was new but as a bargain bin game or something you can now pick up on eBay for a few bucks it is well worth it.
The original game can be picked up fairly cheaply. However, if you don't have a TurboGrafx-16 then you can also play Victory Run through Nintendo's Virtual Console for the Wii and Wii U or via the PlayStation network. There were no sequels that I am aware of though this seems like a fairly good candidate for a modern remake.
