😱 The Digital Scavengers, Looters of the web 😱

They are among us, they look like ordinary people, they are part of our society, they can be your neighbor, a friend or even a close relative.

They walk between web pages like ghosts, looking for a victim to loot their content and shamelessly publish it as their own.

Outside of all comic or funny aspects, there are people, individuals who make a living like us on platforms that grant some kind of remuneration for the creation of original and quality content, such as Read.cash, Nosie.cash, Hive blog, Blurt among the best known, but these people have a very different concept than creating original content, because they use their creativity to steal content from different sites, such as instagram accounts, facebook, even brazenly from the famous Wikipedia, and then use that looted content or plagiarized to post them as your own. And worst of all, they go unnoticed by the scanning eye of moderators and bots trying to prevent this type of plagiarized content on their platforms.

I call them the scavengers of the web, or the looters, sometimes I call them the pirates.

I have a friend who for reasons of respect and of a legal nature I will call him Fredd, unfortunately my friend Fredd is a scavenger of the web, he is a user as well as I of a certain content creation platform, which I will not say his name, but It rewards mostly original content uploaded as reports, whether photos, videos or blog. Fredd plunders instagram accounts of various users and without any consent steals his photos and images, and not enough for him, he adds texts and information from wikipedia, and then uploads everything posting as original content.

Fredd has already been doing this kind of thing for months on said platform, and has managed to go unnoticed, therefore the platform has rewarded him for all these months (I think since December) with his payment in cryptocurrencies.

Unfortunately there are many Fredd today that flood the web, and that have benefited from their looting and carrion.

[But how does this affect us?]

Firstly, on the platforms where scavengers live, they decline, because the quality of the content decreases. The environment on these sites gradually becomes polluted, giving room for spam, toxic language and much more piracy.

In addition, this practice of looting can affect other users who do provide true quality and original content. Because they would see how plagiarized content is rewarded as equal to or even much more than their own, which is 100% original. this would discourage, giving way to migration to other platforms, or for these users to become more looters.

That is why it is vital to protect our platforms from this type of harmful activity in which we are all affected.

Friends in Blurt let's all be creators of original content, and let's keep the scavengers, the looters away from the web.
