Splinterlands is one of the best games I've come across on the blockchain. The team takes the community along with them and always adds new features and attractions to the game to make it more fun. The game offers both fun and earning opportunities, which is the best feature of all play-to-earn games in the Web3 space and sets them one step ahead of Web2 games.

The last town hall was full of information and details about the development work going on within the game to ensure a better gaming experience and increase the fun factor. The market has also been up for a couple of weeks, and so the game's native token DEC and governance token SPS have also shown a positive move.

One important aspect of any play-to-earn game is the fun content of the game along with the game economy. The game ecosystem should be such that it can sustain in the long term. That's the reason for certain changes in the gameplay and the reward system. The reward system that worked well at one time may not be equally effective over time. The game developers know this very well, and that's the reason we've seen changes in the reward system from time to time by the developers. It also includes ranked play and ranking overhauling. I started the game when we were receiving reward edition cards from our daily quests and also from season end. The system has been refined many times, and at present, we are receiving Soulbound cards, which are playable in ranked as well as in tournaments, but players are not able to trade or rent them to other players. The Soulbound nature of cards makes them attached to the player's account only, which helps the game ecosystem and plays a major role in supporting the card price in the market.

In the coming days, the rewards system will again get a new mechanism called the Glints point system. Instead of game rewards or Soulbound cards, the players will receive points which they can accumulate and use to make purchases from the rewards shop. That means there will not be any chests to open, and players will earn points for every battle win and will be able to use those points in the reward shop to purchase reward cards, potions, and energy. At present, there is no information on the exchange value of points for different items available in the reward shop. For bigger purchases, the players will be able to accumulate the points and use them as per their wish. Limited edition titles will also be available for purchase with points, and to my surprise, the titles will be tradeable or sellable.

The gamification of different mechanisms like the airdrop system in the game makes it more interesting. The Bitcoin halving will be soon, and to celebrate the same, the Splinterlands team is planning to release a Bitcoin Promo Card. I have participated in previous similar events as well, but at that time, the procedure was very simple. The card was available for sale with a minimum number of pack purchases during the event. I purchased a couple of packs at that time and received the card as well. A new ability was also introduced at that time, which was available with the promo card only. The earnings from the pack purchases at that time went to the company, but this time, the plans are different as the revenue generated during the event will be burned to benefit the value of the token in the ecosystem. I consider it a good initiative for the betterment of the game economy and tokenomics.

I am excited and looking forward to the updates as this will bring new energy among the players. It will be interesting to see how the community reacts to the new reward system. New sets of cards always fill the players with excitement. Some more updates regarding Guild play and old edition cards are also in the plan. The new airdrop card from the Rebellion series has also been revealed. Overall, at present, many exciting developments are going on in the game. The next phase of land will bring more gamification, and players will have to get involved to harvest, which will also increase player interaction in the game.
