The 1st Quarter-Final Match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 played today between Tamil Nadu and Kerala at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, in which Tamil Nadu defeated Kerala by 5 wickets reach into the semi-final.
Tamil Nadu won the toss and invited Kerala to bat first, Kerala batted first, started the inning very brilliantly, Rohan Kunnummal and Mohammed Azharuddeen came to start the inning and gave a brilliant start with a partnership of 45 runs for the first wicket, the first wicket has gone for 45 runs in the third ball of the 7th over, Mohammed Azharuddeen dismissed after scoring 15 runs in 14 balls, next batsman Sachin Baby came to bat, handled the inning played a brilliant partnership of 46 runs with Rohan Kunnummal, the second wicket has gone for 91 runs in the fourth ball of the 13th over, Rohan Kunnummal was dismissed after playing a brilliant half-century inning of 51 runs with the help of 5 boundaries in 43 balls, followed by Sanju Samson came to bat, and he was dismissed without scoring as the third wicket in the last ball of the 13th over, the team score was 91 runs, next batsman Vishnu Vinod came to bat, handled the inning and played a brilliant half-century partnership of 58 runs with Sachin Baby, the fourth wicket has gone for 149 runs in the fourth ball of the 19th over, Sachin Baby dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 33 runs with the help of 1 six in 32 balls, followed by Sajeevan Akhil came to bat, and he reamains unbeaten for 9 runs in 4 balls with Vishnu Vinod, and Vishnu Vinod played a brilliant unbeaten quick half-century inning of 65 runs with the help of 7 sixes and 2 boundaries in just 26 balls. In this way, Kerala batted first after losing the toss, scored 181 runs losing just 4 wickets in the prescribed 20 over, and set a target of 182 runs in front of Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu's bowlers Sanjay Yadav took 2 wickets, Murugan Ashwin and M Mohammed got 1-1 wicket.
Tamil Nadu chasing 187 runs in the second inning they achieved the target very easily by losing just 5 wickets in the third ball of the last over, Tamil Nadu started the inning very well, Hari Nishanth and N Jagadeesan came to start the inning and gave a good start, the first wicket has gone for 26 runs in 2.5 over, N Jagadeesan dismissed just for 7 runs in 7 balls, next batsman Sai Sudharsan came to bat, and played well with Hari Nishanth, the second wicket has gone for 58 runs in first ball of the 7th over, Hari Nishanth dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 32 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 2 boundaries in just 22 balls, next batsman Vijay Shankar came to bat, handled the inning and played a brilliant partnership of 57 runs with Sai Sudharsan for the third wicket, the third wicket has gone for 115 runs in third ball of the 13th over, Sai Sudharsan dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 46 runs with the help of 7 boundaries in just 31 balls, followed by Sanjay Yadav came to bat, and played well with Vijay Shankar, the fourth wicket has gone for 145 runs in second ball of the 17th over, Vijay Shankar dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 33 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 1 boundary in 26 balls, next batsman Shahrukh Khan came to bat, and played well with Sanjay Yadav, the fifth wicket has gone for 178 runs in last ball of the 19th over, Sanjay Yadav dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 32 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 1 boundary in just 22 balls, followed by M Mohammed came to bat, and he remains unbeaten playing a winning six in just 1 ball with Shahrukh Khan, and Shahrukh Khan also played a very brilliant unbeaten quick victory inning of 19 runs with the help of 2 sixes in just 9 balls. In this way, Tamil Nadu chasing 187 runs in the second inning they achieved the target very easily for the loss of just 5 wickets in 19.3 over and won the match by 5 wickets to reach the Semi-Final.
Kerala's bowlers Kerala took 3 wickets just for 26 runs,
KM Asif and Sudhesan Midhun got 1-1 wicket.
