Toki Pona is a Fully Functional Language With 120 Words

It was developed by Sonja Lang partially inspired by Sapir–Whorf hypothesis. Anyone interested in exploring the mechanics behind language and communications should take a look at Toki Pona in real life.

Word List

There are few additional words beyond the 120 that is given above. As a living language with active users, changes are to be expected. There are people composing songs and novellas in Toki Pona. Its only major fault I see is discarding Hindu–Arabic numeral system.

Below is a short video I found that helped me to learn about the basics. I have hardly put any effort and yet I am capable of coming up with few basic sentences. There are only 5 vowels and 9 consonants. Everything is designed from ground up to be easy to learn.

I find this artificial language very interesting. It is very concise, its initial approach is quite optimistic (with a strong Taoist philosophical influence), and I am surprised that it claims that you can learn this language in one day.
