Analyzing My Record Staking Strategy Against Its Results + HIVE's Increasing Trading Volume

in r2cornell •  4 days ago

It has been some time since I participated in Record Staking. The ideal time to get in is as soon as a Record is released. Lately I have been seeing Records with a higher supply. Almost all the Records used to have a supply of 25 with very few exceptions. The number of exceptions have been rising. There are few additional tips I have figured out through my experiences with the game. I joined the game few months after it launched and have been a regular player ever since. I learned things slowly and stuck around for the long term.

Staked on New Records 2.5 Weeks Ago

The best time to stake is right when a Record becomes available for staking. There could be some edge cases where a different time would have provided better earnings. Such events are not easily predictable and can take a great deal of work to discover compared to simply checking out if there are new Records released.

Test The Waters With Percentages

Aim to have the largest share of a pool for the same amount of STARBITS. Some Records will have more demand that the others. There is no reason to overthink small differences. Seeing large differences on the other hand should prompt you to focus your staking to those could get you the largest Rewards.

280,000 STARBITS Staked

I staked most of the STARBITS I had in the game. There is over 1 million STARBITS in HIVE-Engine for STARBITS Millionaire Mission that is no longer accessible for the newcomers. Being one of the early investors/players has its advantages. Cryptosphere can provide many perks and even more knowledge/experience for those who come aboard early. We are getting close to mainstream adoption. There are billions of people aware of cryptocurrency and there are millions using cryptocurrency everyday. If you are reading this article, most likely you are among those regular users.

STARBITS Earnings So Far

I rarely unstake the STARBITS I have in Record Staking. I leave them till the Records sell out. Sometimes this leaves me having a large percentage of a pool that is for a Record on its last few NFTs remaining.

Billy Korg - Motherships 30 has been the best Record to stake on. It was only the third highest staked among my recent staking activities. It had the best balance of high sales and less staking. Since Billy Korg - Motherships 30 was the most recent among the few rapid releases, more players had staked on it. I had a smaller portion of the total pool. If I had staked 70,000 STARBITS on it, I would have earned 11,547 STARBITS.

Billy Korg - Motherships 25 performed almost as good and it was the second most staked in my activities. The sales popularity of individual Records is the most unpredictable part in this process for me. Knowing some music creators in HIVE who have already built an audience can help with discerning where to stake the STARBITS on.

Attention is Back on $HIVE

It is a disappointment to see the marketing initiatives of INLEO not getting funded. Every time Proposal 332 get funded, the haters find a way to push the bar higher. Due to this reason, the co-marketing initiatives with other established blockchains such as Solana, Arbitrum, THORChain, Chainflip etc. are getting delayed. At least the trading volumes are not going away.

It is great to see that Upbit is not the only source of HIVE pumps. MEXC is a popular CEX that has a lower bar for listing Tokens. Outside of DEXs, it is an exchange for those who have a higher risk tolerance. On top of the spot trading market, interest in perpetuals also remain high. The companies that decided to list HIVE should be feeling happy about the trading fees they are generating.

Games Massively Improve User Retention

It is wise to play the long game and slowly get users invested in the ecosystem over time. We are not memecoins and we should be focusing on long term sustainability. Microblogging and games are two activities hundreds of millions of people are doing everyday. We have the GameFi + SocialFi built in to capture a portion of that audience.

We are not stuck in a zero sum game within HIVE. A gain of one DAPP could be the gain of everyone else. The true competition is with Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Meta, X, TikTok, Microsoft etc. HIVE's gain could be their loss. Since the centralized games and social media platforms are getting worse over time, we have a real chance to grow exponentially if we play our cards right and focus on onboarding.

Happy Gaming! Happy Onboarding!
