NEVER PUT TOO MUCH TRUST IN FRIENDS, LEARN HOW TO USE ENEMIES.

Lord, protect me from my friends; I can take care of my enemies.
___Voltaire, 1694-1778

Nobody believes a friend can betray. This used to be Esther’s position until today. If anyone had ever told her any of her best friends would hurt her so much as they did now, she’d curse them and have them arrested for trying to pour poison into her ears. But here she lay; betrayed and denounced by those she held dear in her heart.

‘Best friends…’ Janet shouted.
‘Till death.’ Esther and Agnes retorted.

This was their way of hailing themselves; at least it was, not anymore: things had gone wrong, the ‘best friends’ had split, and like sheep without a shepherd, each headed her way.

Prior to this, not even the devils best tricks could separate these trio. They were the best definition for “partners in crime.”

Once, when all was well, these three had stepped out on what they called a girls’ trip. They took vacations and flew all the way to South Africa. 🇿🇦 They partied all month and had the fun of their lives. While partying and flirting, things had happened; things no one except the “three musketeers” could know.

‘What happens in Las Vegas…’ One of them would always shout at the top of her voice amidst partying and drinking.
‘Stays in Las Vegas.” The other comrades would riposte.

Unfortunately, what happened in Las Vegas didn’t stay in Las Vegas.

Nude pictures and videos of Esther leaked and her husband saw them. While her family felt insulted, she in turn, felt betrayed. When she first saw them, a shiver went down her spine, her blood coagulated for a very few seconds, her heart pounded and fainted, her teeth grinned, tears and sweat left their abodes and descended like the great waters of the Jordan.

90% of the brains in her skull told her one of the many men they flirted with was the culprit. She was wrong. One of her friends had bargained with the devil and allowed him win.

What a shame!!!
