MONDAY’S MOTIVATION

DO NOT BE ADDICTED

Time is the most important thing in life; it changes everything!

Somethings are very irrelevant to your being and
existence, and with time, they'd leave without
being asked nor forced to. These things happen naturally.

My experiences in the past few years have led me to the knowledge that a person can never be forever addicted to a person or thing. That thing or person you attach so much importance to and feel you cannot do without us actually a figment of your imagination.

For sometime, I thought I was addicted to my phone. I was on it all day, doing nothing. I still remember my dad once got angry one fateful day and said ‘If I were a phone, I would never be your phone. You would press me to death.’

Few days ago, the same person returned home one day and yelled at me ‘Where do you always keep your phone? I’ve been calling all day. What if it was an emergency?’

Few years ago, I was so passionate about being online and replying every single message the moment it knocked on my phone’s door. Look at me now, having about 400 unread messages from WhatsApp only. I won’t talk about instagram and twitter.

With this, I believe there’s no such thing as “I’m addicted.”

It is a truism that we all need people and things to survive. Regardless, your life and happiness shouldn’t be solely dependent on a a thing or person.

Love and show concern for others and for material things. However, it should not be so severe that you will no longer be able to survive if they wake up one day and take a break it fail to show up.

DO NOT BE ADDICTED!!!
