For me, birthdays are a kind of reminder of how far we’ve come, and how far we need to go. They are meant to serve as an avenue for one to take a walk down memory lane and examine his life thus far.

They provide an opportunity for one to do better if he’s been messing up and a stepping stone for one who’s been trying his best.

They serve as a warning for a bad person and an encouragement for a good person.

For me, yours is an encouragement. You’ve been a good person thus far and I wish you nothing but the best life has to offer.

You’ve been an amazing friend and brother and I’d be lying if I say I’ve not been learning from you.
