eBook Reader Apps for Android Devices Banner

eBook reading apps have become so convenient in recent years that they are gradually replacing traditional printed books. You can read your favorite book wherever and whenever you want by simply downloading apps on your device. But, with so many books available online, how can you read them if you don't have an eReader? Lucky for you, we've created a list of the top eBook reader applications for your Android devices.

Amazon Kindle

The Kindle is one of the best eBook readers on the market. Produced by Amazon, Kindle gives you access to millions of wonderful books and magazines even if you don't have the gadget. If you have an Android smartphone, you can download the Kindle app for free from Google Play. When using this reading app, you can use the built-in dictionary and the X-ray feature to learn more about the book you're reading. Besides Wikipedia and Google Search, the Kindle app provides access to books downloaded from Amazon and anything from your library via Libby.

Google Play Books

The Google Play Books app shouldn't be underestimated because of its wide availability, from Android devices to Chrome browsers via a Chrome extension. This app stores all the books you download from Google Play and other third-party websites in various formats.

There are a lot of features in the app that will spark your interest, like book rentals, Quick Bookmarks, and the Rapid Skim Mode. While the app is free to download and use on your tablet, many books are not. Regardless, take advantage of the various features available, such as dark mode, audiobook, and a built-in dictionary, to maximize your reading experience.

FBReader

FBReader is an excellent ePub reader app that lets you read from any device, including smartphones and personal computers. This versatile ePub reader app allows you to read books downloaded from its library as well as those imported from other sources.

In addition to supporting a range of eBook formats such as PDF and HTML, it will organize your library by author or title for easier searching, and you can read in up to 34 languages. There are several other features to explore, such as synchronized reading positions, bookmarks, and you can simply zoom in or out when reading an eBook. FBReader could also be personalized by installing apps and plugins such as PDF readers and offline dictionaries.

Wattpad

If you're not tech-savvy and prefer an eBook that saves you time, Wattpad is the one for you. This app is free for both smartphones and tablets, and it allows you to browse through millions of books by category using its intuitive search tools. Other than that, you can search for material using book codes or internal browsers.

You'll be glad to know that you can also quickly alter the text's color and font to your liking to make it easier to read. But what distinguishes Wattpad is the creative force behind it, where you can find a curated collection of stories from upcoming authors and take part in any discussion you find interesting. If you have the talent, feel free to create and publish your own stories on Wattpad.

Kobo Books

Another strong contender among the top eBook reader apps is Kobo Books. There are millions of books available on Kobo Books that will appeal to all types of readers. When you buy eBooks or audiobooks from Kobo, they are added to your library and are accessible for reading even when you are not connected to the internet.

If there's one feature that stands out, it's the Reading Life feature, which introduces the reader to a whole new world of social reading. With this function, you can not only exchange quotes and notes, but you can also discuss books you're reading on social media sites like Facebook.

I read a lot of books. Many times I read PDFs because some books are not hardcopies. And this is a good option to read PDF.
