What prompted you to venture into blogging?

I'm going to share with you something personal, but it is highly relevant in the context of social media.

At around age twelve, I lost my grandfather; we were very close, he was like a second dad to me. It happened very unexpectedly, and it affected me badly to the point where I lost my voice, and I mean that literally, I developed a speech problem in my teens. I couldn't answer the phone without stammering, I couldn't speak to people or even speak in public. This is the reason that giving people a voice on social media is so important to me today.

As you can imagine I immersed myself in the written word, focussing on writing as a form of expression. Blogging became a natural medium to progress into.

I did eventually find my voice, I got married, had kids, matured in my way of thinking and eventually grew out of it. Since then I have spoken on podcasts and even worked in a call center making up to a hundred calls a day. I know that today sometimes you may feel hopeless, but tomorrow can be different, I am proof of that.
