Trust yourself that you can do it. You can find a job. You can change careers. You can learn to walk again. You can recover and not spend the rest of your life in the hospital. You can make it. You can succeed. But you must first affirm: I deserve to succeed as much as anyone else.
Every human being is born with one gift: The privilege of deserving to succeed. People aren't higher up the ladder than you are because they are more favored by God than you. You are as good as they are. And if you don't think so, then that's your problem. If so, I hope I can help you with it. You must affirm: I deserve to succeed; and I have the ability to succeed. Everyone has within himself latent, innate ability. It probably needs to be honed, educated, trained, and refined, but it can be done.
If you doubt your abilities, I can show you people who have learned to believe in their limited abilities enough to succeed far more than experts say they should. In a school for the severely mentally retarded in Mitchell, South Dakota, I've seen Down's Syndrome children with an average IQ of 36, writing sentences complete with verbs, nouns, and prepositions. There are vast, undeveloped areas in the most retarded mind. The reason more "handicapped" persons fail to develop their latent abilities is that other people don't believe they can. I've heard people say, "Don't waste your time on them." It's a tragic attitude.
Affirm. Anybody can amount to something if he will affirm himself and his abilities. Below, begin your own alphabet for winning.
