Hello everyone.

One of the things that we can enjoy in Blurt is manual voting, where we can give our assessment to the content of a publication through it. Currently a group of users are delegating their power to receive automatic votes.

Maybe that is not detrimental to the environment but if we get to the point where most users take this type of service, the ecosystem would be weakened, simply due to the fact that those people who are plagiarizing information or publishing without any effort, they will obtain high rewards, this can demotivate those who do have a commitment and show their efforts in each publication.

Those who offer this type of service do not take time to verify the publications for which they vote, they simply give the vote and this allows the increase of junk publications in our blockchain which would damage the reputation of Blurt because it would not be pleasant to invest in a site where you don't get original content or content worth reading.

My intention here has always been to support those users who demonstrate their efforts, therefore, from this moment on, I want to inform all users that **my curatorial team will NOT support users who are obtaining votes through these services. **

I encourage all users to publish original content, to be creative, there are countless topics that you can choose from and that will surely be welcomed by the curators.

You can also spend a little time commenting on those publications that you consider of quality, that can open doors for you, but do not choose the path of self-voting, because that will not be well received by the curators.

Great work as always for the community.

Manual curation allows precisely that and filtering the content and focusing on what's worth.

If we want to go forward and grow we need to create value and that comes from content creators and developers but also from good curators that play an important role by encouraging or not what it's being created on the platform.

Since Blurt has no downvoting system those bad practices may grow undesirably if we don't take measures, among them better curation activity and education are important.

Thank you for your comment and support.

I only wish I had time to reply to every comment. When I can grab a few moments I will try. But alas, I am avoiding my regular work.

Wished I could do more, you know actually. My time and resources are also limited so I only try and put my 2 cents.
What you are doing for people (for us) cannot be properly quantified since it comes not only from your time (the most valuable thing) and funds but from your heart.

I haven't been here long (I write more often on my @dreemsteem account, but dedicate a lot of my time to multiple projects and platforms haha) but I wanted to read this post, as I've seen you come to my posts and wanted to support as well! :)

I often wondered if blurt had autovotes. I can see the benefit and the disadvantage from both sides. There is always the danger of people abusing - but the advantage for me is that I can continue to support people that I trust (who have earned my autovote) without having time eat away at that support LOL

I can't read all the posts that I'd love to! LOL but I still want to support the people that - as I said , have earned the right to be ON my autovote list. hahaha

But as you said, there are always people who are willing to abuse this - and this hurts the whole system.

I appreciate that you've taken a strong stance to align your project with your integrity! Though... heheh I still would love to have the ability to have autovotes here! LOL

I'm not aware of the system that you're referring to - but it sounds like it's not a very carefully maintained system if people are using it to mass-upvote plagiarism.

On a side note... I'm really disappointed that most of the comments in your comment section are the typical "thanks for the good information, you have a good post here" copy/paste nonsense that I've seen on other platforms.

The one thing that we love to do on DreemPort - is reward the amazing and genuine comments that we see from our members when they visit posts from Blurt, Hive, etc... so... who knows :) Maybe when people start to get rewards for genuine comments vs. copy/paste ones... they might even be motivated to connect more!

or... not hahaha

we never can tell what will turn the light on for people to make strong, genuine, thoughtful connections! Maybe its just a mindset that can't be motivated by monetization? hahahaha

ah well. we try, right?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with the community!

I think there is a need for cooperation between everyone here, especially people who understand the working system of platforms like Blurt.

Personally, I myself am still trying to find a lot of information on how this system works, especially about voting and using tags in each post. Including the work system on witnesses, will they participate in voting on every post of people who have voted for them? or how? I really don't understand.

I would like to than @Blessed-girl for pulling this publication together. She brought @double-u's post to my attention, which led me to asking her to pull something together. I may have given her a few thoughts on the matter but credit needs to go to hard work. I was very pleased with the first draft.

I am not sure if you realize the amount of work that our curators do. The curate 800 to 1,000 publications per week. Then there are many publications that are reviewed but not curated.

Blurt curators include:

@blessed-girl
@abiga554 (also does the curation reports)
@bestkizito

Without them the curation project for Blurt may have ended last winter when I contracted Covid-19

Join with my in offering them a sincere THANK YOU!

Oh, by the way this is @r2cornell himself writing this comment.

Wow this is very amazing and same time emotional for me to read.
One tree doesn't make a forest.
I Thank God for the noble helping hands that you got to assist you during your illness sir.
I hope you are now very healthy sir @r2cornell

Hi @bleesed-girl the post you made is wonderful and very captivating. I must confess that it caught my attention at a glance considering the fact that i am a noble curator in the team of #blurtconnect.

I thank you guys
@blessed-girl, @abiga554, and my brother @bestkizito for your devotion to hardwork on this noble curations project of @r2cornell

Thanks for the mention, Sir.

You have my full support in this endeavor. Thank you for your publication.

@r2cornell, this is really an issue. I am very happy to have seen this, sincerely it is a kind of vexation to me that even people with less efforts on putting a post are getting more rewards as a result of automatic votes from trading service bots.

I've been into blogging system and a current country representative of steemit platform from Nigeria. Seriously speaking bot trading services are not the best idea to grow as blogger.

Yes! Creativity and Originality matters. I hope you're sound and healthy now sir @r2cornell. I appreciate those that still stands to support devoted content @blessed-girl, @abiga554, and @bestkizito for your hard work here. I'm actually new here, and wish to explore more about blurt. Thank you

Welcome to Blurt and thank you for your comment. It is good to see the Nigerian Community growing here on Blurt.

This hit home for me. Those running these services without verifying the content of that which they are voting does not have the greater community in mind but just growing their account. Hope this message reaches them.

I really like your initiative from a very good initiative. If your initiative is implemented on the Kanei platform, then the honorable person will be respected and everyone will come up with their qualifications. There will be no big or small gaps here. I personally thank you very much for taking this initiative

Plagiarism is a crime and should never be encouraged even if heaven and earth is promised as a reward. For me, it is an advanced form of stealing.By copy without acknowledging someone’s work, you steal from their bucket of knowledge; their intellectual property.

Even I'm preparing for the exam now a days I try to read quality posts like yours in free times. Because there are ideas, thoughts, creativities, imaginations, information, lessons, news, announcements, contests etc in those posts and they help me to assess and learn so many things. It also helps me to interact you experienced and awesome guys.

Thanks a lot for curating quality posts!

You made the right decision.
A group of users receives an automatic vote by delegating. Many of them do not post quality but get automatic support. This is not the right service and right path. A few days ago I had no idea about giving a delegation. My friend @practicalthought gave me the right advice, so I withdrew all my delegations. We all want to create a beautiful place by quality and good posting...Thank you dear @r2cornell . I respect your decision.

Inspiration for making this move came from @double-u, @practicalthought, and @michelangelo3. There posts and comments related to this topic game me a lot to contemplate. I do need to include all those who commented on their posts, and comments as being a part of the final decision. I believe my team of curators are in agreement. I know of one person who already stopped using those services.

I do not promoted anyone giving any of my curation accounts delegations. Some do and I do not turn it away, although they get no special treatment. Odds our curation team does not even know about the delegations. I believe I reward our team members/curators well, and still there is growth in voting power for the accounts.

Thank you for the comment.

I am impressed that this issue is addressed, original content is d bedrock of any successful user here on blurt! It’s a quick reminder to me also...

And I hope to improve my content too..
Thank you @2rcornell

I must express how happy i am with this publication.
A lot people want quick money but they are not ready to give equal strength, devotion and smartness to acquire it.

Blurt as a new blockchain can only grow faster if we increase the value and quality. This we can achieve by investing and not farming the platform.

I am not a fan of robot delegation because it encourages plagiarism and supports low quality contents.
Though i do see people make quality contents even when using bots. But only a few of them do so.

I applaud the team of @r2cornell for this wonderful initiative that is aimed at encouraging good content creators and also promoting blurt.
You have done noble.
Regards

From time to time we end up curating publications that are plagiarized. It is unfortunate, but because curators read the publications it is easier to catch on to somebody using someone else's work.

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

Exactly boss
I hope the manual curations will make the best difference in blurt regarding content rewards.
Uniqueness is the key.
I respect your decision

I really love your publication Sir, but most people are really committed to their work that no much time is given to their blog. On the other hand, I have also observed that what is given to Mr A is not given to Mr B despite having a social system as this. Now in my humble opinion, I would suggest for a 50% delegation of ones total accumulations If he wishes to delegate and an excess of that should be faulted by vote absconding and if you go through my blog, I have decided to go for an all time 50% delegation despite I'm coming up unless in the case I'm delegating to a community to help them in increasing their BP and for the rest of my BP I will use it in voting for every other person in the system, thanks for your reviews. 💗💗💗

This is a great reminder for us all. I see the work you've been doing on Blurt along with everyone else and I commend it. Have a nice day

I really enjoyed reading your publication sir.
Delegating to bots so as to get rewards in return is not really a good idea, but most persons create quality and don't get any good rewards on that and so they are left with no other choice than delegating.

This is not a "quick" to earn thing. Winning votes hence earning by blogging needs as @r2cornell and many others stated, perseverance, quality and what is most important for me : engagement.

Without engagement your fan base won't never grow enough to give you interesting rewards. You need to be seen and that can be achieved by making thoughtful comments on others posts as well as answering thoughtfully to those that comment on your posts.

Discord servers are also a great way to engage with other users and make you "visible".

Persistence in making great quality post will give you success but don't expect it to be fast unless you're some kind of blogging "genius".

Cheers

Consistency they say is the key to distinction 💪.

It depends if it's well focused, there are bad habits (regarding the social networks/bloggin platforms) that made with consistency only would badly distinct the one involved so not only you need consistency but you also need to find your niche (theme or themes that fit you more ) and be consistent on developing your skills there being sincere, honest and original ;)

It is unfortunate that many that do quality work do not get the recognition deserved, nor the voting so they can grow their Blurt Power. In part that is why I started these curation projects on the 3 platforms. Unfortunately, many still get missed by our curators.

I do not have the answer, and do see your point of some having "no choice" but to delegate for rewards. It would be great if I hade enough voting power on the 3 platforms to curate even more publication, but I do have limits. All the money tied up in 6 curation accounts spread across the 3 platforms is my own funds. In part I see them as part of my retirement monies. Seeing as I am still working at 69, and plan to for while, I am willing to take the risk with these blogging platforms.

I did sell some blurt to get some hive and steem to pay my curators. I am trying to not power down anymore than necessary, except in my non-curation accounts. In this way I hope the voting power will continue to grow.

To not become dependent on voting services will require fortitude and perseverance. Focus on the highest quality they are capable of. Engage with others. Share who you are as a person. In time your hopes and dreams will come to fruition.

Thanks for the clarification on this issue of delegating to bots.

I hope every blurtian also refrain from such acts.

Wow. Thanks for giving me more insight about this platform, I've read it all and I really appreciate you for taking your time to outline the issues at hand, I'll take it into consideration I hope everyone does too.

I highly recommend reading some of the publications by @double-u, @practicalthought, and @michelangelo3. There is a lot of quality information that anyone involved in the platform can learn. Are these the only ones, NO! This a starting point.

Here, like in any business, one must think long term. When I ran my company and I was making decisions I would always ask myself "what are the possible outcomes if I do this". Look to the long term consequences that might be based on actions today.

One thing I find happy is that this issue is been taken serious, most people just wanna copy and paste then allow bots to reward them, they show no effort like even commenting on other peoples post or even reblurting something valuable.

Another thing I will always suggest is to develop a system that can scan for plagiarism and and report the user or possibly ban them.

Than you @r2cornell for bringing this up.

Good morning All blurt user.
This is big announcement.

Inspiring and Appreciating job for blurt community.

Amazing work to make the community strong

Thank you very much for this information. Honestly, as a new member of Blurt, I'm still confused about the proper working system. Where do I find many posts that get high votes, even though they are not of high quality at all.

Of course this will be a bad thing in the future, where everyone will only compete for votes, no longer producing something of value to everyone. If Blurt really prioritizes originality and quality for each post, then I think the rules should be more stringent.

Oh my God, I'm sorry I didn't see this post After 28 days it turns out that there is this very valuable post. This post really represents my feelings. Lucky I'm on discord @r2cornell
