To the 21st century fashionista (cont'd)
So my last post was somewhat enshrouded in mysteries......like the mystery of the 7 mountains and 7 seas right?😂😂😂

That's why I said you should order for a box of small chops for understanding to come to you.

Lol...that was on a lighter note.
But really this is what happens when we refuse to call a spade a spade, this is what happens when we want to coat the truth so that we could somehow still be accepted in society.

This is what happened to us when our parents told us, 'if a man touches you, you will get pregnant', 'if a man sees your nakedness, you will get pregnant!'

They were right in their own way, but that truth was enshrouded in so much mystery that it was the world that had to unravel it for us which ought not to be so.
What were they trying to sell to us?
Sexual purity!

They felt that was the best way to pass across the message. This was because in their days there were certain words that were too heavy for the lips to pronounce, but in this century where foul language is gradually gaining grounds in the dictionary, should we still keep coating the truth to feel among?

A wise woman once said that we should never blame our parents for the way they raised us because they didn't know better.

This is so true, they indeed didn't know better.
This is why we that know better have to rise!
So what am I saying?

Gone are the days when sexual purity was an old school fashion, gone are the days when no sex before marriage was an outdated fashion, gone are the days when people look at you twice when you say 'I'm keeping myself till my wedding night.'

How is it that when the hand of fashion turns 360° and brings back the good old days, we embrace it without question but the values of the olden days still remains olden, it still remains old school and old fashion; it's still an object of mockery and laughter?

I remember the time when keeping one's natural hair was a holier-than-thou-act done by certain sisters of that holy faith. In those days they were the objects of gossip and mockery, but one day, while men slept, slay mamas visited the salon to cut their hair, we woke up and they told us #TeamNatural is the new trend.

Guess what? We all bought it hook, line and sinker. Before we could spell Jack Robinson, both sinner and saints trooped to the barber's shop and scissors in hair become the order of the day. That was how holy Mary got vindicated because the same people that were laughing at her had now joined her to keep natural hair.

Fashion has revisited the museum of clothes, shoes, bags and even hair, but our good morals haven't made it to the spotlight yet....why?

Dear Mr success, gone are the days when people ask for your secret and you say 'my brother na God o'.

Let us tell the holy Marys that they won't just be the mothers of Jesus but that they can birth relevant things in the society if they continue to maintain their stand.

Let us tell the guys and the ladies that still carry the sash of virgins that there are more than 7,777 other prophets who haven't bowed their knees to Baal.

We are the ones to make purity the trend. We are the ones to notify them that the tables have turned and that you are still a slay queen who hasn't been polluted.

Don't worry, I'll tell you my own story, you know I like gist, but for now, think on these things! I hope I sparked a fire.
