My Day 1 in Mbaise.

My journey to Mbaise was as boring as the being typing this. I saw my coursemate, Okonkwo Chidera on my way and I waved her.

As we rode on our bike pass the 'Nwanyaa' market, I heard someone shout my name. It was my cousin sis Mbagwu Judith. I waved her also.

.
On entering my house, I was informed that my grandmother was in the kitchen.

.
"Justina..." I called her as I walked towards the kitchen at the backyard. Justina is the name we usually call her when we are either hailing her or trying to get something from her. Her name is Justina anyways.
I watched as she weakly rose from her seat to hug me.

"Ijeoma nwam, I lohuola? Afo me ga di iwu afo oma." She told me as she raised her head to look into my face.
I am not very tall like that yet...I am just a bit taller than she has but she had to look up because I was on heels.

I allowed her look into my face while I stared at hers. I realized that my grandmother was getting very old. Too old that she can no longer walk a long distance like she was walking the last time I visited.

I greeted my Uncle and his wife who were around and headed for the for the front yard.
.
Moments later, Ihuoma Hyacinth Chizuru came to welcome me and then he completed his laugh at me that he left half way here on facebool.

Evening.
I have been sitting, carrying my jaw in my elbow and smiling, even though not from my heart, at one of my uncles who has been singing 'Sambisa forest' since his friend who mentioned the words to him left. ~Maybe he was hearing the words for the very first time.

Now, my uncle's friends has come around again. I am still sitting outside as I listen to their discussions on indecent dressing,

.
"Some ladies now want to go naked in the name of fashion, in the name of attracting men. I have seen ladies who dress decently and are married to wonderful men." One of his friends said in Igbo(Olu Mbaise).

I rose from the pavement where I was sitting, to leave their presence and just then, my uncle noticed me. I am wearing a gown that is just a bit below my knees. Maybe just maybe, to them, its short; indescent.

Errrmmm... I should leave now... I need to boil rice for the evening.
