The beauty of writing is in writing with the rules and regulations that governs writing, these rules and regulations in writing is what is called Content Etiquette. Content Etiquette are rules and regulations or DOs and DON'Ts that governs writing. It's is what gives beauty to the writing of the writer, if we are guided by this etiquette our writing would be clean and original.
One of the DON'Ts in content etiquette is plagiarism, it's an act that is cable of making a writing platform like Blurt dirty.
Plagiarism can be defined as the act of presenting someone's work especially written articles as your own work without any form of recognition given to the original author of the work.
Source
Blurt is a home of writers, a place where people are expected to share their skills, imaginations, feelings and thought through writing. And there is a saying that there's nothing new under the sun, whatever you are trying to express in writing may have been expressed by someone else, so there is a tendency of one copying someone's work and pasting it without proper honour to the owner of the work.
This kind of act has serious penalty if caught in the act. And any platform known for this kind of act will not be well spoken of in the society at large. Blurt as family has an expectation and desire to grow and climb to a height where it would be recognized as one of the best writing Community, and also for Blurt as a Crypto currency to come to the height and possibly exceed the height that currencies like Bitcoin has attained.
I want us to know that this fit is attainable and could only be achieved if the members of the platform makes it a personal duty to see that the platform is growing. One of the many things we must do is to avoid Plagiarism. Let's try to always reference any article that is not our own by so doing we are promoting Blurt as a platform.
How to keep Blurt Clean
I want to share with us the two necessary things we should do to keep Blurt Clean.
- Avoid Plagiarism
Plagiarism is a serious crime in the world of writing, it gives a bad name to the person and platform known for the crime and it equally has a way of reducing the platform's pride and dignity. In my next write up I would write about plagiarism in detail.
- Avoid Copyright Protected Images
It is not every image we see online that is free to use, some of those images are protected by copyright, and if you are found with such images in your write up you may be punished by the original owner and the platform where such images are found could be in serious trouble.
I would be releasing an article on how to know whether an image is free to use or protected.
