Respect is key to learning skills, being part of a community and making it in this crazy world. If you want to survive and thrive you will need to learn respect and project your image to others in a way that deserves respect.
Respect is given and it's earned. It's important to show respect and to be respectible. It's your responsibility to uphold morals, a good and strong reputation and a code of conduct.
There are no universal codified rules for respect, but most cultures have similar requirements you should observe. Respectible people uphold morals and observe the rights of others, are slow to anger, focus on building their craft and treat others with the respect they hope to be shown.
Respect for elders, others, masters and citizens of the world at large will reflect back on you. Being calm in tense situations, showing acquity in your craft and showing a high level of respect to others will convey respect to others.
