Waking up late has become a common occurrence for me lately, especially with the winter chill settling in. The cold weather makes it increasingly difficult to leave the warmth of my cozy blanket. Each morning feels like a battle between the desire to stay snuggled up and the responsibilities that await me outside of my comfortable cocoon. As the temperature drops, my electric room heater has become my trusted companion, a true lifesaver that transforms my chilly room into a warm haven.
This morning was no different. I reluctantly peeled myself away from my blanket, feeling the cold air hit my skin. Oh goodness i can still feel the same chills......
The first thing I did was reach for the heater, turning it on to create a warm atmosphere. As it hummed to life, I made myself a cup of tea, a ritual that brings comfort and warmth. I paired my tea with a piece of fish and a chicken patty, a simple yet satisfying breakfast to fuel my day ahead. The warmth of the food complemented the heat from the room, making the transition from bed to the day a little easier.
After breakfast, I prepared for my work as a physiotherapist. Today, I had a full schedule ahead of me, dealing with five patients, each with their own unique challenges.
The first patient had lumbar scoliosis, a condition that can cause discomfort and pain in the lower back. I carefully assessed their posture and range of motion, developing a treatment plan that included specific exercises to strengthen their core and improve their spinal alignment. It’s always rewarding to see patients take steps towards better health, and I felt a sense of purpose as I guided them through their session.
Next, I had a patient with wrist pain. This is a common issue, often arising from overuse or injury. I conducted a thorough examination, checking for any signs of swelling or limited mobility. We discussed their daily activities and identified any movements that could be contributing to their discomfort. Together, we worked on stretches and strengthening exercises designed to alleviate their pain and improve their wrist function. It’s moments like these that remind me of the importance of communication and collaboration in physiotherapy.
The third patient I saw was dealing with a frozen shoulder, a condition that can severely limit range of motion and cause significant discomfort. I approached this case with sensitivity, knowing that frozen shoulder can be frustrating for patients. We focused on gentle stretching and mobilization techniques, gradually working to restore movement. I emphasized the importance of patience and consistency in their recovery process, reassuring them that progress takes time.
Following that, I had a patient with forearm pain. This could stem from various causes, including repetitive strain or injury. I conducted a detailed assessment and determined that their pain was likely related to a specific activity they performed at work. Together, we devised a plan to address their pain through targeted exercises and ergonomic adjustments to their workspace. It’s crucial to educate patients on how to prevent further injury, and I always strive to empower them with knowledge about their condition.
Finally, I met with a patient suffering from neckache. Neck pain can be debilitating, and I approached this case with care. After evaluating their posture and muscle tension, we worked on relaxation techniques and stretches to alleviate their discomfort. I also provided advice on maintaining good posture throughout the day, especially when using electronic devices, which can contribute to neck strain.
Throughout the day, I felt the physical demands of my job. Physiotherapy is not just about guiding patients through exercises; it requires strength and endurance from the therapist as well. Demonstrating exercises, assisting patients with movements, and maintaining an encouraging presence can be physically taxing. However, the satisfaction of helping others overcome their pain and improve their quality of life makes it all worthwhile.
After a long day of work, I returned home, eager to unwind. The warmth of my electric heater welcomed me back, and I wrapped myself in my blanket once again. But wait i had to eat something definitely soemthing powerful and what can be more powerful than fruits. Luckly i had a mix fruit box in my refrigrator. I ate them and Thanked to ALMIGHTY for all the blessings i have in my life.
See you tomorrow.....😀
