My sister got married on the 28th and 29th of this month, these are some of the pictures and videos I took on both days.
I'll throw more light on how Nigerian weddings are been celebrated but, in the way my sister's wedding turned out.
On the 28th of May was the traditional rite of handing over the bride to the groom , well in this particular occasion and according to my custom we'll have put a whole lot of money in a stainless deep plate and then the bride will come and pick out of the plate and anything she picks will be her bride price and that's what the groom will be paying after consulting with the intermediate he'll then pay the sum his bride took. The reason for that is simple because if anything changes and the grooms family request for the bride price back we'll have to give them the particular
Amount they picked .
After the bride price has been paid , the bride will now come to find her husband and give him he's drink and then the celebration will continue from there till the time is up .
On the 29th was the white wedding and the church wedding was held at St Lawrence catholic church Nigerian Air Force Base Makurdi, Benue state at about 10am with everyone sited and waited for the bride to walk through the isle with my dad in his arms .
Well after the exchange of vows and signing of the marriage certificate, we headed on to the event center were the reception was been held and that's the most important part of Nigerian weddings because you'll see all colourful and beautiful attires all round and so many pretty girls in the hall, they was a lot of food and drinks to go round and it did go round to the whole 300 guest that attend the reception.
I had fun on Saturday but I'm beginning to miss my sister right now and I'm going to say a big congratulations to them .
