MEMORISE: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things., Philippians 4:8

READ: 2 Peter 1:5-8

  1. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
  2. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
  3. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
  4. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Virtue is moral excellence. A virtue is a trait or quality that is deemed to be morally good. In other words, it is a behaviour that is accepted as being morally right. The opposite of virtue is vice.

Beloved, as a child of God, you are expected to be morally upright. Your thoughts and actions should be pure and harmless.

HYMN 51: BREATHE ON ME, BREATH OF GOD

  1. Breathe on me, Breath of God;
    Fill me with life anew,
    That I may love what Thou dost love,
    And do what Thou wouldst do.

  2. Breathe on me, Breath of God;
    Until my heart is pure,
    Until with Thee I will one will,
    To do and to endure.

  3. Breathe on me, Breath of God;
    Till I am wholly Thine,
    Until this earthly part of me
    Glows with Thy fire divine.

  4. Breathe on me, Breath of God;
    So shall I never die,
    But live with Thee the perfect life
    Of Thine eternity.
