Matthew 15:22-28

🖊️ COMMENTARY
Never give up! Your miracle is within your reach. Do not kill your dream; pursue it. Do not allow your present situation to limit you; do not lose your focus. You are a champion. No matter the hardship or famine, a lion cannot feed on grasses. Life is full of pains. Job says "man is born to troubles" (Job 5:7). However, troubles and hardships can bring out the gold in us. Pure Gold is not found on the surface of the earth. You must dig deep. Gold passes through fire to reveal its beauty. Keep moving; be strong. You are unstoppable. You are a winner. "Winners never quit."
When you get into a tight corner and everything seems to go against you, do not quit. Helen Keller said, "Life is either a daring or nothing else." Hold on to your dream. In our main text, a desperate and helpless Canaanite woman approached Jesus for her daughter's deliverance from demon possession (v. 22). Jesus' response to her seemed very harsh. His first response was, "I was sent only to the wandering sheep of the house of Israel" (v. 24). His second response seems more provocative: "It is not right to take the children's bread and give it to the dogs" (v. 26). Yet she never gave up. She said, "Yes, Lord: but even the dogs take the crumbs from under their masters' table" (v. 27). Her persistence resulted in commendation of her faith: "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that very hour" (v. 28).
Have you come to a point where it seems your Heavens are closed? Or answers to prayers seem to delay? Have you been ignored or rejected by trusted family members, spouse, close friends etc? Do not give up. God can handle any problem, "For with God nothing will be impossible" (Luke 1:37). Hold on to God. "The LORD will fight for you" (Exodus 14:14).
