IT PAYS TO BE GOOD, REGARDLESS!

Days back, while at work drawing/cresting an aesthetic design on a cloth as part of my work as an ARTIST, which was contracted to me by a client. I was; on that day, at my colleague's place(Achin Raphael) drawing together. In his house the parents own a Mini Bar. So, at the course of my stay there, a Man amongst the others drinking shared a story of his experience years past on how he escaped death, due to a one time good deed he did to a person he never knew.

'Four years ago, he was out on an evening to chill and watch football in an opened environment where many others were there too, perhaps with same motive. He bought a good number of people there drinks and paid for it as they drank and watched TV together happily. So, at the course of his stay there that same evening, a man came to him in request of N200(two hundred naira, Nigerian currency) to use and get snacks for his little baby at home whom was hungry but he didn't have a way to help out, and so, without hesitation this Man offered him a thousand naira(N1,000) instead and moved on with his football/chilling.'

Weeks later, he had embarked on a journey, and on this journey a sad incident took place. They were armed robbers on the way which stopped his car and collected it at gunpoint. They were killing other people and claiming their money/belongings and vehicles there, but one of the thieves whom reached his turn to kill him told him to silently run for his dear life without even hitting him.
After the scenario, this man whom was rescued by one of the unknown gunmen got a call telling him that "Orvesen(meaning Boss in Tiv language of Benue State, Nigeria), you're a good man,that is why I rescued you. I'm the one who you supported with funds sometime ago to feed my baby without even Knowing me in person till date. I was sent by my boss to attack and kill you and claim your cash and car. My boss envies you and your wealth, perhaps how you're charitable which he(my boss) is wrong. So, on reaching the execution ground and discovered twas you, I felt pity, remorseful and ashamed so, I had to do what I did. Don't ever call this line, because after now I'm going to destroy the Sim card and also stop this criminal act, thanks." And the call ended.

Untill today, this man hasn't known who this person is. And it's four years past now, the phone number doesn't even connect. He has gone to that spot again severally to chill, thinking this man will approach him so that he can still use the opportunity to thank and appreciate him, but to no avail as all efforts seem abortive.
This man shared this story painfully and joyfully as he has been baffled over the years. His pain is that, why and how could his fellow human envy and want to kill him for the course of right? And his joy is that, regardless, he's being rescued from untimely death due to his good deed(s), and for changing a thief to a repentant!

In conclusion I have this to say;
No matter how much pain you encounter for the course of right, always keep keeping on, to doing what is worthwhile for it will go a long way than you can imagine. Imagine what could have happened if that man wasn't a cheerful giver?, Imagine he didn't help to save the poor soul of that man's little hungry baby?, to mention but a few. No wonder it is often said that "one good turn deserves another", as showcased by the repentant thief (or former thief😅). I also noticed his generosity that day as well, meeting him for the first time. He ordered I should be given a bottle of beer on his bill😋🙈,& I felt good before sharing his story to us there present.
Indeed, IT PAYS TO BE GOOD, REGARDLESS!
